The BuildTheEarth Team Alps has the goal to recreate Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Austria in Minecraft at a 1:1 scale in this project. The team has a size of over 3097 users, and they've already reconstructed more than 3057 buildings. With each passing day, the team continues to make remarkable progress towards their goal.

🌎 Zurich

The old town is the cultural and historical centre of Switzerland’s largest city, which is why we chose to build part of it at the recent BTE Games. Over the course of a week, builders of Alps BTE and other teams managed to complete a large area, of which a large block is now available to download!

🏠 Spalentor

The Spalentor is located in the west of Basel and is one of three remaining city gates leading into Basel’s historical centre. After the earthquake of 1356 destroyed the old city wall, a new one was built with the Spalentor being the most intricate and ornate of the then seven city gates. It was completed in 1400 and has stood firmly since. The Spalentor is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful city gates in Switzerland.

🏠 Schloss Eggenberg

Eggenberg Palace is located at the edge of graz. It is a pristine example of baroque architecture, containing over 500 ceiling paintings and a well preserved interior of 17th and 18th century furniture. The palace has been a UNESCO world heritage site since 2010.

The location has a size of approximately 800.000 blocks.

🏠 Mariendom

Standing in the center of Linz, the Mariendom is a Roman Catholic cathedral built in a new gothic style. High population growth in the 19th century meant that a new church needed to be built, and so construction of the cathedral started in 1862 and lated for about 70 years, until 1935. Being able to accommodate 20.000 people, it is considered to be the largest cathedral in Austria, despite being two metres shorter than the Stephansdom in Vienna.

The location has a size of approximately 2 million blocks.
