*Critical Role spoiler*

(I know it's a lot of Critical Role right now, but this is an emergency. That last two episodes were crazy. Mythtember will resume soon. =D)

This was the most harrowing scene I've ever seen in an RPG, whether watched or played.

Clockwise from left:
Fearne the faun druid, freshly Revivified after dying just seconds before, sits with the dead halfling fighter Orym in her lap. She is the only one who has a spell slot left to cast Revivify. She is mortified out of her wits by what's just happened.

As Ashton, the earth genasi barbarian (people call them a punk rock) sets the also-dead warlock Laudna next to Fearne, they group realises that somehow, they'll have to choose which of the two they will save.

Imogen the sorcerer, Laudna's closest friend and companion, is devastated to see her friend(s) dead - as she blames herself.

Chetney, the gnome/werewolf, still in his wolf form, equally distressed, suggests the only way they can choose whom to save is - flip a coin.

Fresh Cut Grass, the automaton cleric, who has just brought back Fearne but is completely out of spells, pulls forth a coin to give to Fearne...

And they will have to choose immediately, as Orym has only seconds before Revivify will no longer work.

I have to say, Bells Hells is the most finely crafted campaign yet. It lacks the exuberant chaotic energy of the first campaign, but it fixes one of the things that still bother me about the other two - in 1, the epic story started late and the beginnings were as disjointed as any homegame. In two, there wasn’t much in the way of an overarching storyline, but it was all driven by the (very cool) backstories. 3 starts several threads that converge early on, so you feel you're on to something big right at the beginning, and then Matt goes and weaves in the backstories into this pretty mind-blowing plot. It’s fast becoming my favourite campaign, pretty much on par with Vox Machina but for different reasons.

Just when I had convinced myself that I did not need to get into season three at all… But I will have yo continue to mainly follow along on the side through your art, I really do not have the time!
