Leaving Zephrah
"It's easier to leave than to be left behind" - R. E. M.

I think it's not too bad for a first attempt at landscapes, I have to say. And of course I put in an Orym, leaving Zephrah after the death of his husband.

Fun fact: I've known my husband for 26 years and he has NEVER been interested in ANYTHING I've ever drawn. But for this one, he kept looking over my shoulder, oohing and aaahing. XD

I learned a lot from Bob Ross (even though neither the tree nor the halfling have a little friend) and Justin Donaldson (hence the Ghibli vibes), and I'm definitely going to do more with this. Especially as it goes so fast! I was hilarious - I was doing the finishing touches in the staffroom today, and several colleagues looked over my shoulder, also oohing and aahing. One asked, "How long did this take you? How many hours... days?!"
Me: "Uh... 90 minutes."

It's not as if you need to draw every blade of grass...

Haha, that's why I always found landscapes easier. It's much easier to pull off a nice-looking landscape than convincing characters. But that's also why I admire your character portraits so much. 🙂

Yay for REM! I don’t like landscapes either! Always needs a little side serving of characters. ^^

Oh my GOSH!!! The Cherry blossoms! The mist! The peaks! This is stunning! And I generally don't even *like* landscapes! <3 (and I understood your REM reference)
