Landscape practice III: Rivendell
Added 2022-10-24 17:38:48 +0000 UTCOkay, the most ambitious landscape yet. I'm leaving them rough around the edges on purpose, to force myself to think in shapes, not in lines and detail. I nearly abandoned this during the "ugly stage", which was long and very ugly indeed, but it's great to see that pushing through is actually worth it. If I do this a few hundred more times, maybe I'll start to see the ugly state as potential rather than ugly. I can only imagine that's how oil painters do it!
