Indeed, my YouTube subscriber base went from 36,050 to about 35,800 after 16 hours.
To be honest, I thought would've been worse. And now, it already has "bottomed out," and there has been +55 net gain in the last 8 hours.
On a pure financial front (which this was never about of course), it has been POSITIVE. The influx of Patreon supporters (from under 300, to now over 350!) more than makes up the small loss on YouTube. (Plus, YouTube ad revenue is SHITE.)
You all know I didn't do this to make money. But others should know that, at least for me, it wasn't a sacrifice to make this video.
It is very encouraging to see the broad popularity of views I expressed in the video! (The Like/Dislike ratio (I have a Chrome plug-in that shows it) is 80:20.) And there has been a huge influx of people joining the Discord and the #social-justice channel has been very lively and positive, with much educating and encouragement going on.
This experience also bucks the conventional wisdom, that you "lose support" if you try to connect different causes together. My video expressed my videos on a wide variety of political issues. The threat of fascism and authoritarian governments around the world is itself uniting the threats to democracy, human rights, and the survival of the planet and human society itself. There is a growing awareness that we need more people uniting the causes together, presenting an ALTERNATIVE VISION that the workers and oppressed can fight for. Some people joining the Discord server have expressed that, while they don't agree with me on all issues, they support my overall stance and they're joining the Discord because they feel it is a safe place for them to speak their mind.
So, to conclude: the "movement" I talk about in the video is a reality! And I hope it encourages creators who are afraid that speaking out on important causes might lose them support, to consider doing so.

Hey Ronald. Took me long enough, but now I am a Patreon. Thanks for all the great advince in your PF2e videos. I have learned a lot. I have never, nor will i ever, care about other peoples sexual orientation. Unless there are people being exploited. So this is me not backing you for your "Coming Out" Video, but for all the PF2e content you have delivered up till now. Keep up the good fight, we need people like you.

2023-12-31 22:27:10 +0000 UTCI’m probably a minority here, but I don’t back people (or remove my backing, even) because of political views. I back you because of the person that you are. Politics is only one small part of the whole, and I wish that more people could see that. For many, that seems to be all that they care about. I hope that you keep on doing what you’re doing, and keep on being who you are, and not who people want you to be. That’s all that I need to know. Keep up the great work!
