Comments

This is one of those ones where I sort of like it but have never gotten the hype. The sister accident stuff is incredibly affecting and distressing and works really well as horror and existential grief for me, and all the later haunting/supernatural stuff just doesn't work for me at all. I think it's a pretty good film and some of the highs are incredibly high, but I can't really hold it up as this S-tier piece of new horror canon that it pretty rapidly became.

It was not unusual at all for my mom to 1) force me into social situations when I was being anti-social and 2) force me to bring my younger brother of 4 years places when I was hanging out with my friends.
