Last post of the year to talk about the January 2022 Release and the first previews!
First of all, we wish you all a very happy New Year! 🎉🎊 Hopefully this new year will make an end of the pandemic and will bring us a new era of social, technology and economic development for all! We are anxious to see the future of the 3D printing world!
In the last poll we did in November you voted for "Discover what is behind the smoke trails in the mountain lands of Khazaria: Khazarian Ogres Warriors and Khazarian Ogres Gunners" to be the January 2022 Release, so... time to bring some ogres to Highlands Miniatures!
The January 2022 will be composed of:
Khazarian Ogres Warriors
- 5x Khazarian Warriors Core Unit
- 3x Khazarian Warriors Command Group
Khazarian Ogres Gunners
- 4x Khazarian Gunners Core Unit
- 3x Khazarian Gunners Command Group
Imperial Steam War Machine
- 1x The Iron Opinicus of Wittemberg
About the Eastern Khazars
The Eastern Khazars are an ogre faction part of the Barbarian Hordes, but they are not like the classic brute ogres. They will be a mid advanced ogre civilization, with commerce trades, technology and magic knowledge!
To design this faction, we’ve been thinking a lot about the Mongolian Warriors from the Genghis Khan era. Although we still have to work a lot on the entire lore for the Eastern Khazars we know that they’ll be settled on the eastern lands of the world, near to Mountains Lands of Khazaria.
About the scale, these ogres will have an estimated lenght of 50mm from the feet to the eyes and they will be designed to fit in a 40x40mm square base.
The faction will be composed of a few tribes, depending on their village’s location. The biggest tribe will be based on these designs: Mongols and Huns. Have you ever played Ghost of Tsushima? They created very cool designs for the Mongols! Also, there will be some other tribes like a savage tribe from the mountains (the classical savage ogre with big sticks and rocks!) and other tribes with different styles, influenced by their location closed to other nations, so we’ll see some Imperial Ogres and some Arabian Ogres.
About the Steam War Machine
As we told you in the update we did the other day to the Steam War Machine design contest, the final winner will be created this January 2022. It was an amazing competition and we saw many cool design. We hope to make a another design contest very soon!

2021-12-31 18:10:46 +0000 UTCI must say I preferred the two earlier separate steam tank designs, this merged version appears goofy and exaggerately tall to me. Stil a beautiful piece of machinery, don't get me wrong, it's just the general appearence that is not completely convincing... Great look on the ogres, though!
