MrJBrick - Yellow Lantern Reverse Flash ⚡️

It’s time once again to take another look at a Hades Flash! Did it disappoint me? Well… not as much as as the last few we’ve looked at!

This is a fig that’s been sitting in my desk for almost a year now, and only now am I taking the time to look at some of Hades… no... now hold on… wait a minute…

Based on my records, this fig was solely listed as a… MrJ fig? Despite the obvious cowl design being based around Hades’ own flash figs…?

Hmmm…

Makes me wonder if Hades didn’t want their name on it? 🤔

…I guess that’s a mystery for another day!

Released by MrJBrick for preorder back in late 2023 / early 2024, this fig ran for $60! And ya know, that feels pretty fair. A majority of this fig only has one layer of ink across it. Not to mention it’s lack of 360° limb print and the #IncompleteLegs

Like... oof... this is a bad one! They didn't even print all the way up the back of the legs! 😵‍💫

Man, we really gotta cut it out with this continuous production choice that drives (me specifically) absolutely nuts! It’s another freakin Speedster that you can’t pose!!!! GAH! 🤬

If it’s not already a  testament of where corners are cut, check out how the hips were fully printed over with black ink! Why not just use solid black plastic? Then at least you wouldn’t have to print the hips at all!

Sheesh, I’ve hardly started this review and I’m already baffled by the production choices for this one!

Like I mentioned earlier, this is a fig with just one black layer of ink for all the limbs, then a few additional colors across the torso for the emblem and muscles. So unless you’re really into the lore, or just into collecting Speedsters like me, than this fig isn’t for everyone.

I personally really still enjoy having this version of The Reverse Flash in the collection. It’s more than likely going to be the only fig of this version in my collection. Well, unless Christo decided to come out of his woodworking retirement and sell custom Flash figs again. But we all know that these days, it’s easier to catch an oiled fish with your bare hands than it is to buy a Christo fig. 

This MrJ custom is also unique in the sense that it’s a rare addition to the “new for now” character designs added to my collection. This version of Reverse Flash first popped up in Superboy Man of Tomorrow #2 (from 2023), so it feels like a treat in some ways.

A bit like Vladimir from a little while back…

I think that in a way, I  can sort of appreciate this cowl design a little more than I had the last time we looked at it. Mostly how it very much fits with theart style of that story. It’s more sleek, and sharper around the edges idk, I think it’s grown on me 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s dumb, but it’s gonna bug me that my Christo Blue Lantern Flash helmet won’t match with this Yellow Lantern Reverse Flash. Not that they ever crossed paths or anything, but it would have been fun to have them side by side!

All in all, I’m not disappointed with this fig, which should be a merited statement in its own right. $60 for the fig also encourages those positive thoughts! So yeah! It’s an okay fig! Kinda! 👍🏻
