Tuesday Showcase #10: Chapter 25 & Memories Improvements

Today, I'm sharing a small preview of Chapter 25. This one sees Laura receiving an invitation from Oliver, her new bull, to join him at his flat, for an obvious purpose.
Laura decides that, on top of having some fun, it could be a nice opportunity to tease Nathan. So, instead of telling you everything that happens, she includes him in the loop, and tell you both at the same time.
And while Nathan doesn't feel as involved as you in that kink, things may change over time...
Note that Chapter 25 will allow you to tell Laura you don't like having Oliver in your life. This option will then skip all future Oliver content. Be aware, though, that most of it will not be replaced by alternative content.
Version 0.11 will also include improvements of the Memories system. memories will now be divided into Acts, include the Chapters names when those have been played at least once and, following popular demand, allow you to select your chosen Tendency when starting a Chapter.
Please note that, while Tendencies will be unlocked by default for now, they may require to be unlocked later. For now though, while the game is in development, this system will help testing.

2024-09-28 08:05:50 +0000 UTCOh I agree. frankly my biggest problem with him in the Dom route was how the morning after he talked about Laura and then acts like he is guaranteed to fuck her again when he talks to just MC. then says "well she liked my talk last night" Like okay, some spicy shit in the bedroom you wouldn't normally say is fine, but once that's done, continuing to be an entitled degrading prick when she isn't even present to hear it and react is annoying and cringe bro. I wanted to text him right there goin, "Oh you think she will bang you again bro? nah fuck off." Anyway having a way to let the content make the content more equally enjoyable would be cool down the line. I really hope when Le Stag is almost done he goes back and does minor tweaks to past chapter to help the Dom path feel smoother and more coherent and actually Dom.

The game already tweaks scenes with tendency-specific dialogue, and I'm pretty sure Nathan has a few instances of it himself. On the other hand I do like the idea of being able to remove him entirely--there needs to be vetting in a relationship like this, and that means not everyone is going to be up to snuff. It would be a good indicator Laura and MC are taking it as seriously as they keep saying they are.

2024-09-25 12:05:44 +0000 UTCPersonally I'd like to see the Nathan teasing happen and for him to go 'yeah, this isn't for me', I always find it annoying in a fetish game where every character spontaneously develops the topic fetish. Makes them feel less like characters and more like props. Tara is already skirting that line, but at least there's enough of a difference between sharing and voyeurism to make it feel okay.

I agree with what some other posters have said about including Nathan being a bit intimate, but not that big of a deal I think, unless they start going on dates and weekend getaways. That would be a hard line for me personally.

At best, Nathan and Laura are friends with benefits, but he has no skin in the game. They don't have romantic feelings/love like Laura and the MC do, and that is what makes the NTS so good between Laura and the MC. Logically, the next step would be to introduce someone that is named that both the MC and Laura know, potentially a friend or some friends of the MC. (Maybe even an ex of Laura?) This doesn't necessarily need to lead to Laura sleeping with the MC's friends, but it would go from someone unknown to known. I understand that this might be a slippery slope though and could quickly go from NTS to NTR and that this is an NTS game and I love it for that, and I don't want it to become an NTR game. I just don't understand using Oliver to cuck Nathan.

2024-09-24 20:58:57 +0000 UTCReplayed it after ny 1st message, I think I was thinking more of the build up, I got the feeling the punishment would be like "I'll see you in the morning" and then you only hear about what happened through Tara, until in the morning Laura gives you more heavy teasing with blurred photos again. But what actually happened was basically the same no matter what you pick.

The privacy makes things better. It lets player focus and enjoy the moment fully. If we add more characters watching, our attention will be scattered between their perspectives.

But I get it, the game as a whole is still very much "give everyone everything", and I get the impression that's a design priority for you, so I'm happy with it. Personally I'd be satisfied if team Oliver gets their sexy content and team No Oliver gets a good conversation between MC and Laura on what the expectations are for this whole relationship dynamic. If it ends up as a ["by the way, what's your opinion on Oliver" "I like him/I don't like him" "okay i'll do that"] then that'd be a little disappointing. Would like to see some alternate, exclusive paths explored in the future but that was already talked about last update. At the end of the day, I trust you and your vision.

I can understand your view though, and I feel a bit of intimacy (less than with MC of course) is not a bad thing. I'm in the "relationships don't have to be either 100% platonic or 100% romantic" faction. Especially in the case of Netorase, I feel a bull, especially a regular one, can have just a bit of an intimate relationship with the girl. I feel it's a bit hard to explain, but I think there can be a form of "love" between two people that's independent from the "romantic love" you feel with your partner. That's a theme I'd like to explore properly here. I should probably make it a bit more visible if I want to do that though.

There may be a bit of alternative content if you skip him, but I don't want to require you skipping him to get some content. Basically, it's just an option to allow you to remove a character you find annoying.

I loved the first time Laura punished the player for not obeying her, but the time with Oliver didn't have any consequences. I thought it would skip her telling us about it as it went, and we'd only get an 'after action report', maybe with blurred photos or something.

Not a big deal if he ends up a minor character, one among many, but all we have to go on for 'named' characters is Nathan, and not including anything with him is like half the game. If Oliver ends up similar then that's an interesting decision. Still, being able to axe him entirely feels like the first time the game about 'mutual consent and respect' has given the player a meaningful choice, so I say it's a good thing.
