Since it seems like the red eeye issue comes when a dog is poisoned by despair&rage (and, directly, by Marduk). I mean, i say that because i dont see the red in her eye after the crests "pop"

I know lots of people hoped for Thakir to save the day but honestly, after every failure Jahla had to endure (some of them surely her own fault but a lot of them not) it would felt...like a bad taste, at least for me. Jahla's one of our main characters and like it was mentioned, she hadn't had her badass moment yet. Thakir is no fighter (as we saw when the dogs attacked them), he's a priest. Jahla on the other hand surely is on the same level as Kargo or Rogio. After everything that happened to her family (Lifa poisoned, Roghir nearly dying, her family relocated and now her partner dead), who else from the Asmundr pack should take on Marduk, if not her? Im also glad she also got the crest. It was always said the Akis are something special, something new and unique and Thakir even mentioned they are still evolving. Maybe the first gen *was* an accident but it seems Utu *has* a plan for them.

2024-11-21 19:32:37 +0000 UTCI knew she’d be special to this situation! 💕💕 She seemed like the youngin still not ready to be a leader, to fight for others. I mean yes we see her in the situation with meeting Rome and dealing with all that, but she hadn’t truly felt her calling. This whole situation is horrible with Rome dying and all her family leading in that direction as well. This is a great character development. I guess this doesn’t come as a huge surprise. Love these panels. Especially the first glimpse at her beautiful crest! That’s our girl!

Honestly without the knowledge of this crest being possible thanks to Thakir, Jahla getting one wouldn’t mesh well into the story without him. It was the stress of this serious threat that has helped awaken this inside her. So this also tells us another thing about Thakir, he is either naturally gifted in sensing it or when he was young, he may have experienced some serious trauma during his puphood. I don’t remember if Thakir has stated that he could remember all of his puphood or not.

2024-11-20 18:56:50 +0000 UTCI agree, thought its also the first time Jahla really gets a badass scene ( rohgir got his in asmundr, ronja gogot multiple, kargo/ferah got theirs, keirr got his ). I do agree the sudden crest is kind of weird in the sense as it makemakes Thakir's sort-of irrelevant (it was "his" special thing, that never really got used/useful)
