EARLY ACCESS ~ JINGLE ALL THE WAY (YT EDIT)

Jingle All the Way (1996) is the cinematic equivalent of holiday shopping on December 24th—loud, frantic, mildly traumatic, and somehow still fun if you’re in the right headspace. Kevin is firmly in the “so bad it’s good” camp with this one, and honestly? That’s the correct way to watch it. Tara enjoyed it, but let’s be real—this is not cracking her top-tier Christmas rotation anytime soon.

Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a dad desperately hunting for a Turbo Man action figure, turning the entire holiday season into an absurd gladiator match. And Arnold—God bless him—gives 110% sincerity to a script that absolutely does not deserve it. He’s sprinting through malls, fighting Santas, lying to his kid, and screaming “Put that cookie down!” like he’s delivering a line from Commando.

Then there’s Sinbad, arguably the human embodiment of ’90s chaos, playing a mailman who’s somehow both hilarious and deeply unstable. Every interaction between him and Arnold feels like two different movies smashing into each other at full speed. And Phil Hartman swoops in like the smarmy suburban menace of the century, hitting on every wife in town while casually stealing scenes like it’s nothing.

The movie escalates into full-on nonsense by the finale, with Arnold literally becoming Turbo Man in a parade jetpack suit that absolutely should’ve killed him and everyone within a five-block radius. But hey—it’s Christmas magic, baby.

Kevin loves this movie for all the reasons it shouldn’t work: the unhinged energy, the bad dialogue, the over-the-top acting, the “who approved this?” choices. Tara? She had a good time, but she’s not about to pretend this is prime holiday cinema.

Jingle All the Way is chaotic, messy festive fun—best enjoyed with popcorn, low expectations, and the understanding that sometimes a disaster is exactly the seasonal comfort you need.
