2023-01-21 03:30:53 +0000 UTCGreetings. (For context, I've only just started reading the first novel of the 3BP series and watched the Tencent adaptation through Ep. 4.) Do you have any thoughts as to why so many scientists responded to "physics not being real" with committing suicide? I was surprised by (and, admittedly, not entirely sold on...) how that seemed to be a very common response to their mutual conundrum. However, the Tencent adaptation has caused me to suspect that perhaps some subliminal conditioning might be being practiced on those who affiliate with the Frontiers of Science; particularly with the focus on the 'Turkey Scientist" thought experiment and how it insists the day when physics takes a different turn is automatically a harbinger for inescapable DOOM. The scene where Wang Miao asks Shen Yufei if she's aware that words can kill after another scientist freaks out over the thought experiment seems to underscore that. Shen Yufei's visit to the Western physicist (I forget his name.) where she gives him experiment data that is seemingly from the future also smacks of some psychological manipulation. Am I on to something here? Should I just shut up and keep reading? XD

I would like to know your views on the ETO (. Earth-Trisolaris Organisation) and what it is, in some detail? In particular...Are they a 'Fifth Column' supporting the invasion? Are they a cult? Are they just capitalists looking to exploit the situation? All the above and more? Cheers DMoN
