Have you been watching The Peripheral by Jonathan Nolan? Starting back in Person of Interest, Nolan had a character that was essentially a goddess / singularity that was most likely operating in the future. It goal was to save Humanity from extinction. In my opinion, this character shows up in WestWorld for those who play close attention to what is going on. Now, in The Peripheral, that same character is back. They have a really clever way of manipulating time streams. And something somewhere is manipulating the future of Humanity by running huge numbers of simulations. I need to find a group somewhere to talk about these shows, but I have not seen one yet… I guess my question is have you seen any of those shows?

John Stanton

What do you think will be the next major theme in Future Science Fiction novels

Joseph Nizolek

Do you think that sci-fi simply goes through the same plot points repeatedly, or have there been true innovators over the last decade or so? What are the most experimental sci-fi novels you can recall?

Tuume

Now I do have a question. While we are waiting for Dune Part 2, can you recommend other movies or series that have a similar scope, grandeur, complexity of world-building? Or in other words, if I really liked (Villeneuve's) Dune, what else should I watch?

Hugh Fisher

Suggestion rather than a question: I recently discovered the TV series Dark Matter, a classic cyberpunk setting and themes but in space. If you haven't already seen it, highly recommended as 1. I think you'll enjoy it and 2. good discussion topic(s)

Hugh Fisher

Criminally underrated I really need to revisit that book series.

Robert Mehling

No question but just finished the recent podcast episode. PLEASE do a video about The Sparrow! Or at least read it, you won’t be disappointed. 🤯. Keep up the fantastic work.

Robert Mehling

Have you read the Pandora Sequence Series by Frank Herbert? It starts with Destination Void. Your take would be interesting! Thanks! John H.

John Horrall

Do you think The chronicles of amber could/should be adapted for the screen?

Tom Wickham

Have you ever thought to yourself when reading a novel, "Man, I wish I could be alive in this fictional world/universe?" If so which one and why?

Rob Love

What are your opinions on the recently released Uzumaki anime clip? Do you think this adaptation will do justice to the manga?

James Donahoe

What Science Fiction book or series do you think should be made into a feature film but has not been done yet?

Tom Smith

G'day Quinn, I recently went back and watched some of your older videos - In particular around those that mention abomination and Alia. I could go find the answer to my question, but I am going to be lazy and 'Ask Quinn'. If the female Bene Gesserit can only access the genetic memories of their female ancestors after successfully taking The Water of Life, then how can Alia be possessed by Vladimir Harkonnen? I wouldn't have thought the male side of the memories could be accessed. Have a good one!!! Cheers Donovan

PS - Forgive me if you have already done so, but have you tackled Ender's Game yet?

Jonathan Robertson

You are one of the most astute observers and scholars of science fiction I have come across on YouTube. Did you find yourself in this wonderful world on your own or did someone inspire you? My late father got me into literary science fiction (and yes, it is proper literature), and I am not sure if I would have gravitated towards it without his guidance. Did you have a mentor or someone who urged you into this field? If so, thank them. If not, give yourself a pat on the back. Your videos have been a blessing.

Have you thought of reading the Nights Dawn Trilogy from Peter F Hamilton?
