I’m so excited to see your reaction to the rest of the episodes you haven’t gotten to see yet because there are some iconic events yet to be experienced. I’m also happy to be with you from the beginning, because I always have a lot to say. Probably much to the dismay of the reactors 😂. If I’m too much, just tell me to shush lol. Couple observations from this episode (don’t worry, I am very mindful of not giving spoilers for future episodes). 1) Ni-Ki. Keep in mind always that while this is a Big Hit (Hybe comes later) show, it is also still MNet (CJ ENM). You are familiar with MNet. We know how they like to Edit. The show sold Ni-Ki / Taki besties vibe, but also glossed over they only trained together for a short time and then Ni-Ki joined Nicholas and Hanbin unit to train. They are from the same country about the same age. Naturally they will gravitate towards each other, but not the bestest of best friends. They have known each other for a short time. Ni-Ki moved to Korea at 13, by himself, knowing zero Korean with a drive and a dream to debut in a group that will take the world by storm. He’s experienced the possibility as a SHINEE kid. Boy is DEDICATED to the dream. Just something to think about along the way. 2) Geonu. I’m going to preface saying I like him. So don’t twist this as not liking the kid. I agree with you and disagree with you about his Heeseung voting. My problem with it is that he voted on a different standard than all the other contestants he evaluated. He had heard the rumors of how good Hee is and set a standard in his mind for him specifically and when that standard wasn’t met, didn’t vote for him. It’s a very K-pop standard toxic culture. Fans set a standard and when idol do something different or don’t meet those standards they tear them down when the idol never asked to be placed on that pedestal. And Geonu admitted that’s why he didn’t vote for him. Because he was less than what he had set as a standard to reach for Heeseung personally. I agree if he was judged in the same level as everyone else and Geonu said he still just wasn’t impressed, I’d be ok with it. But being judged on a different standard is what I wasn’t on board with. I also noted how Heeseung, even knowing Geonu didn’t vote for him, still voted for Geonu. Thought it was classy of Hee.

Loved i-land and K was always my number 1. I am still salty over his evil editing and the results however I knew he would come out a winner somewhere so thank you @team!
