The rescuers are continuing to do what they can for the girls in cardiac arrest due to the lightning strike while they're waiting for medical pros to arrive. However, they might not always make good decisions, lacking some knowledge about the little medical equipment they have. And to be fair, in such a situation it can be very difficult to think clearly in general for people who are not trained and used to it.

Of course, that's a very useful piece of equipment. How else would you transport patients in cardiac arrest to hospital? (stay tuned 😉)

2024-07-14 00:00:50 +0000 UTCThey didn't give up on her yet, and at this point it's unclear how bad her injuries are. Though her being in a not shockable rythm is not a good sign of course. Asystole is actually the most common rythm detected after a direct lightning strike, which is usually really bad, but it's not hopeless to save patients like that who are young and healthy. It will likely come down to what injuries she suffered and the quality of cpr she's getting right away.
