The Review No One Asked For
Added 2023-10-10 21:00:02 +0000 UTCYa'll...I feel like talking about Texas Chainsaw Massacre. No reason to review it. I've done it already. But...I don't care. I had it in my mind that I was gonna do The Exorcist. But...TCM is just calling my name too hard. Hope to have it edited soon.

haha yeah. But it's cool. I watched it on my own. Carrie is one of my favs, so will be fun.

2023-10-11 18:06:04 +0000 UTCSweet. It's October so it makes sense to review it as far as I'm concerned. Every time I watch it I love it just a little more. One of the few horror movies that legit scares me. Also its very dark sense of humor becomes more apparent with each viewing.

2023-10-10 23:50:44 +0000 UTCI disagree that Blair-Witch did it as well as TCM, but I see the correlation.

2023-10-10 23:50:02 +0000 UTCNo genre can capitalize off of a low budget more than the horror genre, and TCM is the classic example of that. Having a lack of polish makes it seem all the more that Tobe Hooper picked up a camera, found that crazy family living in that decrepit, bone-riddled house in the middle of Texas, and shot a movie about them. The seeming lack of artifice makes it more terrifying and disturbing. Maybe there was a movie or two in between Iβm not remembering, but I donβt think it was until 25 years later that The Blair Witch Project pulled off the same kind of trick as expertly as TCM did.

2023-10-10 21:36:45 +0000 UTCEverytime you watch TCM you only realize more how perfect it is. Literally Tobe Hooper wonder (as he directed, produced, written and even composed music for it), it's strange his career went the way it did, probably due to his erratic - to say the least - behavior. Both TCM and The Exorcist are classics, but their sequels TCM 2 and Exorcist III: The Legion are enjoyable watch. Although the latter one in tone is closer to Blatty's The Ninth Configuration (Mark Kemode loved it). Would love to hear your take on those some time in the future. Cheers!

2023-10-10 21:19:05 +0000 UTCRemastering an old review? I remember the original video from like 6 years ago when I was still a new subscriber. At the time, I felt the film was dated because of how much it's been copied over the years and my overall dislike of slashers but I saw it again last year and...yeah it's pretty damn good. Definitely one of the few good ones from a genre I dislike.

2023-10-10 21:13:43 +0000 UTCEverything you say in your original is fair critcism but Iβm glad you gave it another chance because it really is brilliant I think. Itβs one of those movies Iβll randomly think about every few months and need to rewatch.
