Is this just common knowledge to everyone, and I'm just living in a cave? This is almost as bad as the time I realized Warren Beatty and and Shirley MacLaine are siblings.

I visited Tippi's Shambala Preserve recently where she keeps many beautiful big cats who have no other place to live. And I second the recommendation someone else wrote here -- check out "Roar"! It's a terrible movie and yet quite AMAZING to watch because it features at least 50 lions and tigers who are NOT trained or domesticated, roaming free inside a house with all the actors and the movie crew. Completely mindblowing. And Tippi and Melanie are in it.

If my grandmother was still alive and saw that I was starring in a porno series that was edited down to get an R rating to become a box office favorite for three straight Valentine's Days, she probably wouldn't want people to know we're related.

And yes, Roar was a notorious film that Tippi Hedren self-financed which featured untrained lions and tigers. It took five years to make, and half the crew suffered animal attacks throughout the shoot, including Melanie, who nearly lost an eye and was almost permanently disfigured when she was attacked by a lioness. She luckily avoided that, but she had to undergo facial reconstruction. I wouldn’t feel too bad about not knowing it. I didn’t know for the longest time that Drew Barrymore was related to the Barrymore siblings: John, Ethel, and Lionel. But in my defense…the apple did kind of fall far from the tree.
