Jack in the Box
Added 2024-04-03 00:00:02 +0000 UTCI think we all know that your only excuse for eating at Jack in the Box should be if its after midnight. For two very specific reasons: first is the obvious one, that most fast food places other than Taco Bell are not open after midnight. And not everyone is lucky enough to have an in-n-out every 30 miles when you're roadtripping in the boonies. Second is because they make it their business to market towards drunk/stoners after midnight, much like Taco Bell. But the other day, I did something really offensive. I went to Jack in the Box before midnight....by choice. It wasn't even that late, I had plenty of choices around me, and this was my decision. I've felt shame but, I figured here is a safe space to discuss it.

It's definitely a safe space. And I hope everyone knows I'm being cheeky. I would never judge someone for eating Jack in the Box forreal. That's just lame lol. I do enjoy the curly fries but I gotta be honest...lately I get just the normal ones. They aren't bad too. I just feel like the burger itself really leaves something to be desired overall.

2024-04-05 19:21:16 +0000 UTCIf this is a safe space, let me say that I love Jack in the Box. Their tacos are a legitimately great fast food item, and I have no trouble eating a Jumbo Jack or Ultimate Cheeseburger with curly fries

2024-04-03 08:20:06 +0000 UTCNow that sounds interesting lol. I wonder what that symbolized, if anything. I didnt have any relationship to Jack in the Box either. Never tried it until I was an adult. And only really due to the fact that I'm such a night owl. And thus Jack in the Box is often the only option late at night driving around

2024-04-03 02:24:42 +0000 UTCYou nailed Taco Bell. I consider myself someone who grew up on authentic Mexican food, and it is a big part of my life. Yet I am a big proponent of Taco Bell. But it's because I understand its irony, unlike the snobs lol. But yes one could say similar things about Jack in the Box, but not nearly to the same degrees. As you say...it's convenience more than anything, with Jack in the Box, which was my whole point. You only go if there's nothing else around, typically. I don't often hear it as a first choice.

2024-04-03 00:56:52 +0000 UTCWell count me as doubly offensive then lmao. Jack in the Box is the most convenient place for me to get a burger when I get off work, outside of McDonalds which sucks. I like Burger King more but they keep closing in my area and take forever. And then as far as In N Out, I live in California, so thats gonna be a long wait unfortunately. Last time I went it was my birthday and I decided to get your favorite order animal burger and fries and it was pretty good. I’d never had either before. I was probably at the drive thru for like 30 minutes but it was worth it lol Taco Bell I like while constantly being reminded at work its the McDonalds of Mexican food. I have a co-worker who’s keeps recommending me various Mexican restaurants in the area, it’s hilarious. “Stephen I just want you to experience real Mexican food…please!” Both are just super convenient to me on my way home from work. I know neither are exactly top shelf.

2024-04-03 00:20:15 +0000 UTCI don't live near either Jack N' the Box or In and Out, but remember liking Jack N' the Box better when I last tried them both. That was years ago. I don't know if either of them are open after midnight in Utah lol. Maybe.

2024-04-03 00:10:13 +0000 UTCI live in Tennessee and have no relationship to Jack in the Box but I had a dream a few years ago in which the 12 Angry Men (1957) ordered a Russian version of Jack in the Box.

2024-04-03 00:06:30 +0000 UTCI disagree that Jack in the Crack should be treated like Denny’s (eat only in case of emergencies). I have often enjoyed during the daytime hours (and while sober) a Sourdough Jack w/Cheese and tacos (among other menu options). And I think their breakfast sandwiches are quite delicious. So, let your Jack in the Box freak flag fly! You’re in good company!
