Yeah, that one I'm not sure about. I'm somewhat interested to see how it will do. But I can't say I was ever a fan of Kostner's directing.

2024-05-20 21:37:37 +0000 UTCa little curious about horizon. it’s hard to believe kevin costner was once a premiere director and talent, and now after so many flops he’s an afterthought. I hope this is somewhat a return to form.

2024-05-16 21:23:21 +0000 UTCHit Man (June 7 on Netflix) - Linklater’s new film which from the buzz its getting sounds like his best movie in years. It was supposed to come out last year but was pushed back due to the strikes. It technically is playing in select theaters on May 24, which is bad idea given thats Furiosa’s release date as well. The Watchers (June 7) - Directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan (yes M. Night’s 23 year old daughter) and starring Dakota Fanning. Much like Cronenberg’s kids looks like she’s following in her dad’s footsteps with a stranded in the forest horror movie. The Bikeriders (June 21) - After an extended hiatus, one of my favorite Indie directors, Jeff Nichols, returns with this period biker movie. Features a great cast starring Jodie Comer, Austin Butler, Tom Hardy, Michael Shannon, Mike Faist, and Norman Reedus. Like Hit Man it was supposed to come out last year but was pushed back due to the strikes. Kinds of Kindness (June 21) - Yorgos Lanthimos’s latest starring Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer. Looks to be an anthology film with three loosely connected stories. Based on the trailer it looks like a lot of fun. Janet Planet (June 21) - Directorial debut from Pulitzer Prize-winner Anne Baker. Its received a lot of good buzz from various film festivals. Honestly, looks like a great month for movies with Hit Man, The Bikeriders, and Kinds of Kindness being my most anticipated. Hit Man in particular I’ve been dying to see since I heard about it last year. Looks like a lot of fun!

2024-05-15 16:04:59 +0000 UTCOne of my most anticipated films of the year is The Bikeriders. Was supposed to come out last year, but it switched distributors and got delayed, which killed me. Jeff Nichols is one of my favorite filmmakers. He has this very classic, authentic Americana sensibility to him that you just don’t see anymore. When you sit down to watch one of his movies, you know you’re about to watch a proper FILM, if that makes sense. Very excited for this one.

2024-05-15 14:05:43 +0000 UTCDefinitively gonna check out The Watchers. M Night Shyamalan’s career started off great, hoping his daughter shares that same debut spark (..and keeps it going)
