You were trying to have a conversation with your partner. But it was proving… Difficult. They weren’t saying anything particularly hypnotic. But you kept losing track of your words. Your sentence would just go.

Their laughter brought you back to reality. “Come on, what do you want for lunch? Don’t make me choose again, I will pick panini’s for the third day in a row.”

“I mean, panini- Pan- I… Umm…” Again. Your thoughts were stalled, just looking at them. Looking into their eyes. Sparkling, beautiful, the colour seeming to pull you in.

So easy to look.

So easy to stare.

So easy to let your thoughts go blank.

Wait. What? Your partner had asked you something, but you couldn’t for the life of you remember what it was.

They smiled. “Babe, you look confused, are you having a hard time thinking again? Come on, you do want to pick lunch? Or is that a decision you’d like me to make?” That was a goading question, of course you’d like them to make the decision…
