Coincidence

You and your partner had been talking for half an hour, and you were still trying to figure out if they were doing it on purpose. When they’d included the words “look”, “eyes”, and “deeper”, it couldn’t be a coincidence? Could it? Or was it? Just a coincidence?
A coincidence that you were starting to struggle to follow along with the conversation.
A coincidence that your answers were getting stuck, half formed in your mind.
A coincidence that they’d sometimes just finish a sentence with the word deeper, even when it did not belong.
You tried to question it. They must have seen the look on your face, heard the tone in your voice. “Of course I’m not trying to hypnotise you dear! What would make you say such a thing?” You tried to think. Tried to explain, but they cut you off before the thought could come about.
“I’m not trying to hypnotise you. I have hypnotised you. It’s why you’re thoughts are so slow and sluggish right now. Why it’s so hard for you to look away from my eyes. Why your body is so heavy. Why don’t you be a sweet toy for me, and close your eyes now? Good pet.”
