Choices

Do you have it in you to tell them no? When their words make you feel so good. You know that, if you want to, you can turn them down, tell them that you don’t want to be brainwashed right now, and they’d accept it, and move on with their day.
But do you really not want to? Sure – there’s other things you could be doing. Important things. But do those things matter right now? Compared to the opportunity to let their words worm their way inside your head, and overwrite your thoughts for an hour or so?
You’re trying to think of a reason why you shouldn’t say yes. Why shouldn’t you give in? You’ve worked so hard recently. You’ve earned this chance to unwind, to relax, with them. To let go of stress, to let go of worry, and to just open yourself up.
So go ahead, make the choice. You can tell them that you’ll want to be brainwashed later, or not at all, or now. The power is in your hands, and whatever choice you make, it is the right one, for you. You know that, and so do they.
