Keep moving

* * *
You had to keep moving. The forest stretched around you, you didn’t know where you were. But you knew you had to keep moving. Because they were out there. Hunting you. Stalking you. You didn’t know what they were. But you knew they were coming for you.
It had started as a nice evening, you had met someone at the bar, flirted, gone outside, talked, and, as they were smiling at a joke you had told, that was when you had noticed the fangs. The soft glow in their eyes. They had called for you to wait, but you knew you should run.
Because, whatever they were, they were not human. And that fact was enough to send you running. But you could hear them, shouting after you. And their voice was getting louder. Closer. Until finally, it stopped. You didn’t stop running. Not at first. But eventually, you slowed.
You were tired. Aching. You put an arm against a tree, to steady yourself. Had you got away? Had you- “I told you not to run. I don’t want to hurt you.” You felt their hand grip your shoulder. A horribly strong grip that made you freeze.
You could smell something sweet on the air. It made your body feel good. It made your mind fall still. The panic that had been starting to fill you quietened. “Okay, turn around, face me, puppet.” Your body obeyed. Too quickly. Out of your control. Now you were facing them.
They were beautiful. Ethereal. But as they leant closer, something felt off. Their eyes were shimmering opals in the darkness of the forest. So easy to stare. So easy to get lost in. A small part of you was screaming at you to fight. To run. But that part of you wasn’t in control.
All that you could do was stare into their eyes. Let your mind begin to unravel into a pleasurable pool of submission. Their hand stroked up your neck, a single, long nail pressing your chin upwards. They leant forwards, and as their fangs sank into your neck, your vision faded.
