What I'm Working On #007

Sul sul!  I'm back with an update on what I've been working on this week.  I caught a bug over Thanksgiving which turned into bronchitis (yay) so it hasn't been as productive of a week as I had hoped, but progress is still being made.

Regency Romance

This week for the Regency mod, I've been focused on finishing the Socialite and Clergy careers, and alongside that, overhauling the Social Standing mechanic.  This is a new stat which will be given to every Member of the Ton to add more consequences for scandal, courtship, and outings.  The reward of the Socialite career, then, is social standing rather than a lot of simoleons (it still pays modestly of course).  For the Charity track of the socialite career, there is also now a new charity gala event.  Sims can check their social standing in the Society Papers, similarly to checking attractiveness from the courtship update.

The clergy career has two tracks: monastic and diocesan.  You can play as a vicar, and work your way up to archbishop, or choose the cloistered life of a nun or a monk.  I still need to finish working on lot traits and the church holdings themselves.

(And now Eliza is a nun.  Note: The dress is still a WIP - it's too form fitting for my liking.)

Sidesaddle

My SO keeps laughing at me whenever I say I'm done with the sidesaddle mod and saying "no you're not".  But unfortunately he's right again and it won't be releasing today.  This week the focus was still on transition animations, and what I'm fighting with is getting the start to walk animations to not be so bumpy... But at some point I may just have to accept that it's beyond my knowledge and know I've done the best I can.

Thank you again to all and I hope you're having a great week.  I'm going to go take some cough medicine and pass out.

Comments

If I have a governess and her student in the same household, will that disable the need for the kid to go to school as normal?

Sophia Mayo

I hope you'll get better soon, dear Jane! Thanks so much for giving us this update despite not feeling well. Both the clergy career and the social standing thing sound wonderful! Will wealth affect the social standing? As in, will rich sims with the aristocracy trait automatically start off with a high standing, or do they have to work for it as well?
