What I'm Working On #010
Added 2023-12-19 19:07:33 +0000 UTCSul-sul! I'm back early this week with a quick update on what I've been working on. I'm about to be out of town for a few days to celebrate Christmas with my family, so I wanted to provide an update before I left.
Regency
The more I work on this update, the more I see ways to try and deepen the content, so while I had hoped for a pre-Christmas release, unfortunately I think we're going to be looking at a release closer to New Years, but still before the end of the year. I would rather take my time and flesh things out than try to rush the release just to get it done.

Half of the fun for me in playing Sims is completing the different aspirations. With that in mind, I've moved all aspirations related to the Regency Mod into their own new category, and this update will bring two new aspirations: Rags to Riches and Lasting Legacy. I have ideas for more aspirations but we will see if time permits.

I've also been fleshing out some of the interactions, including getting the book balancing animation into the game. Governesses can ask Teen and Child Sims to work on their Etiquette, Painting, or Music Skills.

The Clergy can Offer Spiritual Advice, which may (or may NOT) be well received.

There are also 8 (yes, 8) new lot traits as of this week, with a potential 9th incoming if I have time. There are Ladies' Clubs, Gentleman's Clubs, and Gentry Clubs (gender neutral), which are lots only gentry can enter and push Sims to autonomously play cards, drink, and socialize. These can be added to any venue - I recommend a bar (the gentry requirement doesn't affect service NPCs). There are also lot traits to limit which Sims can enter certain lots by social class.

Finally there are also two lot traits which add taxes as a challenge to Sims, the Harvest Tax and Sleep tax, with the idea that some Sims may "own" their lot but still be subject to taxes by the local Lord or Lady.

Finally, I have also been working on the Charity Holding type that goes with the Socialite career, but can also be founded from the mailbox. Unlike the other two holdings, Sims don't earn an income from this holding, but are rewarded in social standing for taking care of it.

Thank you to all and happy holidays!
