Four-Letter Word 0.1.3 Update

I should probably look up what the word "definitely" means in the dictionary, because I still ended up a little despite my assurances, haha. Sorry for the wait, guys, but I'm pretty happy with the content in this build, so hopefully it's all been worth the wait. Hopefully this will be the last time I'll have to delay a build. Since returning to active development, I've been having a bit of trouble figuring out how to manage my schedule, but hopefully from here on out I'll have it under control.

The gist of it is that I do tend to neglect FLW development in the early parts of the month to focus on other jobs to make sure I'm making enough money each month to pay my expenses and I end up trying to cram VN development near the end of the month to try and have something of substance to show for the month. The first two month, this lead to me returning to some very unhealthy habits. This month, I forced myself to stick to a healthy sleeping schedule and giving myself breaks when things got rough. I underestimated how much that would affect the time I'd be able to spend on the build, leading to this one being so late on top of some technical snags I hit that caused further complications. For July, I'm going to try and make an effort to spread my dev time out more evenly over the month to prevent having a crunch period and we'll see how that goes!

On the technical side of things, the only problem I wasn't able to solve in time was how I want to handle composite sprites. After learning how other VN devs approached them, I realized that they don't work with transitions like dissolves which prevents me from using them the way that I would like. I'm trying to look into how to handle layered images instead and might have something ready on that front for the next build, but as game dev tends to go, I can't really guarantee anything 100%.

I'm happy to say that I managed to get everything else done that I wanted and to a level of quality that I'm actually really happy about, which is a nice step up from the frustration I had with some assets last build. I hope you enjoy! I'll get the other patron tier rewards out tomorrow as it's super late now and I'm trying to stay in the habit of sleeping at a reasonable hour, haha.

If you downloaded this build prior to July 4th 1pm PST, I reuploaded these builds with some bugfixes and typo corrections if you want to pick these versions up instead.

+ Changes from 0.1.2
- New story scenes for Colby's Route (November 21st)
- New story scenes for Asher's Route (November 23rd)
- New sex scene
- Asher should no longer be driving backwards on the highway at full speed (yikes!)
- Phone messages should be much harder to miss now
- 5 new phone messages (1 from each of Noah, Elias, Troy, Emil, and Hugh) have been added throughout each of the main characters' routes as a first pass of minor interactions you can have with them through the phone that will give or subtract small amounts of affection points depending on your choices. These ones are simple and low impact, but as I make more of these I may experiment with them.

It's one of the trickier scenes to unlock. Asher must be in the right mindset. Otherwise, he doesn't have the courage to make a move. I'm reluctant to say more than that since one of the Patreon rewards is a "scene unlock" guide. Good luck, it's an amazing sex scene!
