August Exclusive Video

Man, you werent wrong. This was rough to hear about. You mentioned you didnt cry or anything, but damn, I sure did. Ive seen and heard so much but something about this one really got to me more than most. The reason he did it, the brutality, it being in public with other people around, wondering what they were feeling, wondering what she was feeling. The fear of living in the US and thinking some violent crime could be committed anytime whenever Im out and having to witness it, being an AFAB person and feeling that a violent crime could be committed against me specifically when Im out. All of that combined makes this whole situation feel really raw and scary. And yeah, the context of this happening just 2 years after the shooting. There were people attending the school during both those events.

crazy first video to watch as a new subscriber + VA native. 🥲 i’ll add that though we’re technically a southern state, we have rather low numbers in regards to gun ownership. it wouldn’t surprise me if no one in that vicinity was carrying anything more than a pocket knife. in high school VA tech was often a school that my well off / popular peers flocked to. sadly, those people seem less prone to getting involved in situations like these. absolutely no judgement towards the witnesses here, just a little bit of context for anyone not too familiar with the state. i can’t believe i haven’t heard of this before but it makes me feel a bit better to know her story and face are not being forgotten. 💛

I don't think how you put it down into words sound heartless, it makes sense, how terrible her death still was. As Hannah said in the video (I believe?), I hope she did go unconscious quickly. Personally, I just wish someone had done something before taking off, but in the end it's just wishful thinking and "what if".

I don’t think it’s weird people ran. If he chopped right for her neck she was probably too late to save. It might sound heartless but the number one rule in first responding is make sure you yourself are safe. Otherwise you have 2 dead bodies instead of one.

I think here in the USA is why everyone ran, especially because there was a shooting in the same place just a couple years before this happened. We live in a country where you try not to even piss off people on the road because you assume they have a gun in their glovebox and you're just not sure who is itching to use it on someone. Everywhere we go now most people have mass shootings at least somewhere in the back of their mind. So I think that's a lot of it. I think people thought he was going to pull out a gun. BUT I do agree with you...like throw hot coffee on him as you run away or something. In a perfect world everyone in the cafe would pull him off of her and disarm him.

What. The. Fucking. Fuck... I'm not American and haven't grown up with "gun-culture" (not sure what to call it), but NO ONE intervened in any single way? Except for the person who dodged behind a counter to call 911... though it unfortunately was too late when they came (but how the hell was that person supposed to know? Atleast they did SOMETHING in an attempt to help). I would most likely have started throwing chairs and any shit I could get my hands on at him as hard as I could, because I would be in a blind rage over him attacking a woman that has no way in hell to shield herself from him. Now, I don't want to claim a cape or a freaking hero-title I just wanted to explain from my point of view how I'd most likely would react and why — BUT it's probably because I wouldn't think of any potential guns (which is why I probably would fucking die if I traveled to the US, my own stupidity). I'm glad the police didn't end up shooting him and that he dropped the body part, because that would in my opinion be too much of an "easy way out" and he deserves to pay for his disgusting actions because of him being insanely possessive. He was clearly aware of what he was going to do since he brought the damn knife and then "went to town" on her for ONE single purpose and he knew it was wrong considering the fact that he hid the knife. He very well might have mental issues and need counseling and medications for it, but I still hope he never gets to "thrive" in prison. This made me so upset on so many levels. I don't blame those who ran for running, but I get upset because NO ONE made an attempt to stop him. Like, throw a chair/hot coffee/smoothie/whatever in his back or something before taking off... But nope.
