Punching Fridays #2

Welcome to the end of 2021 everyone! I don't know about you, but I am more than happy to sit and watch as this year takes it's last dying breath. Good riddance I say! Next year is already looking to be so much more attractive!

Anyway...

Since my last post (PF#1), I have been drawing and animating my ass off to get the next major content update in motion. Things have been moving at a pretty good pace, and even better is the fact that (I believe) all previously existing bugs are now resolved as of the latest patch (0.3.7)! This is a huge milestone for me, I had started to think that I wouldn't ever get the builds as clean as they are now. So what this ultimately means is that future major content releases will not be held up by waves of code debugging. This in turn, will be a considerable savings of my time and allow me to get these releases to you guys even faster!

Now I want to take a moment to talk about the game's story. As you may already know, as of 0.3.7, Korvald is actively taking on the Sisters of Steel in their own home as he attempts to rescue Magda. Upon discovering Magda, pregnant and chained up in the lower chasms of the foundry, we learn that something is causing her entire body to grow wildly out of control. She is clearly trapped by more than just chains at this point, having grown too large to even leave the chamber she is contained in. Once you have defeated Mother Superior, you will learn that rescuing her will be far more complicated than Korvald's preferred method of smash-and-grab. By the time you have defeated Mother Superior, you will also have seen a very scared, and VERY pregnant angel, approach the hot-headed Noraitha to plea for help. Maternal sympathies overshadow any hostilities between the two as Noraitha offers the angel sanctuary in the tavern, hiding from the fury of the heavens, and more importantly her father. This moment in the story is so very important for several reasons. Firstly, we now have two of Korvald's children preparing to enter the universe. Secondly, each of these mothers, after birthing their respective children, will be catalysts in adding even bigger unique challenges to Korvald's story. These events will mark a transition in the types of enemies you will have to deal with. Right now you are mainly accustomed to fighting aggressive humans (for the most part), but those days are numbered. Korvald will soon be challenged by the other celestials (including the archangels Michael and Gabriel), old gods and eldritch horrors (far bigger than we have seen yet), and a few familiar faces that we thought were lost (and a few we had hoped would stay gone)! We will also be meeting several new sexy allies, a spider lady, a bard, and an archer.

Most importantly, Kara is returning... as well as someone we have heard about but never seen from Korvald's past.

Well that is about all I have for this week. Next week I will be going into more detail about the specific features and events in the upcoming 0.4.0 release, as well as revealing more information regarding Mallum (Korvald's soon to be firstborn son). So be sure to check back in next Friday!
