Our last Patreon episode discussed the recent murder of 13-year-old Tristyn Bailey, whose body was found on Mother’s Day. We posted the episode the day before official charges came down. Fourteen-year-old Aiden Fucci has been charged as an adult with first degree murder. We learned more from charging documents, and from law enforcement, about how horrific this crime was, and we wanted to share an update. We also want to discuss how a horrendous crime like this, involving children, could even happen. Was Aiden Fucci on his way to becoming a serial killer? Is there such a thing as a 14-year-old psychopath? How do you create a serial killer? How does a child kill? These are a few of questions Dr. John will tackle.

What I'm curious about is if Aiden has done any violent acts in the past due to the fact that as soon as his mom talked to him and found out Tristan was missing she immediately went to find his clothes...and she was trying to clean them, and they had just moved to the area not too long before I believe... I'm interested to know if anything happened in the town he lived in before.... His mom knew he was capable.. but how

The way she murdered him, the way she disposed of him, the things she's done since, the lies she came up with, the way she spoke there's just so much so much I would love love to hear you both and Dr Johns analysis.

2021-06-10 18:45:32 +0000 UTCMy mum was a huge fan of Leo Buscaglia when I was a kid and I’ve never forgotten a story he told about working with a trouble little girl who would make play dough family and then yell, “I love you!” and then smash each figure in her family. He determined that for that little girl, love was something that hurts and is violent because that’s how her experiences defined love. (I’m paraphrasing this and doing a crappy job). There was be a genetic component to creating these troubled kids but there is almost always a traumatic background. I wish we could do more to help these kids before they become everyone’s problem.

2021-06-01 15:15:21 +0000 UTCI agree, the book is much better because it actually explores all the debate about what factors create a sociopath; was or neglect and poor attachment from a detached mother or was it genetic? Plus it explores the kind of chaos these troubled kids inflict upon a family. In my small town, a town that was declared the safest in Ontario 3 years in a row, we’ve had 3 mothers who were murdered by their adult sons who struggled with mental health, so much so that marriages were ruined and siblings/other family members became estranged. It’s absolutely heartbreaking.
