EARLY ACCESS and AD-FREE Interview with Shawn Littlebear

Hello Patreon Supporters!   This is an interview we'll be premiering tonight,  but we wanted to share it here early with you, and offer you an ad-free video.

Shawn Littlebear is speaking out for the first time with Hidden True Crime. Littlebear is one of the founding speakers of the organization 'Preparing a People'. He would speak alongside Chad Daybell at preparedness events. Littlebear knew Tammy Daybell, Lori and Charles Vallow, Melanie Gibb, Jason Mow, Hector Sosa, Dan Judd, and the list goes on. he takes us inside the organization, explains its beginnings, and helps us understand Chad Daybell's evolving belief system. He shares how Chad found his pendulum (hint: Chad stole a necklace), how Chad groomed, his desire for power, and what Littlebear suspects happened.  Lauren and Shawn Littlebear spoke for three hours. They plan to speak again. If you have any questions for Littlebear, please leave them in the comments.

Also, feel free to join us on the public premier tonight as well. There will be a live chat going. That link is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOTlYHTkm-Y

EARLY ACCESS and AD-FREE Interview with Shawn Littlebear

Comments

Found a talk that Shawn Littlebear has the lost pages of the Book of Mormon and also new scriptures. Today in General Conference Dale Renlund talked about a person calling him and telling him about finding the scriptures. Of course he didn’t fall for it. In Shawn’s talk he says he is working with Elder Holland and Elder Anderson on translating these plates and they will be available for us to read. This talk was from 2018. It’s funny how he didn’t mention any of this to you. I wonder if he is like Chad

Shawn Littlebear agrees to head the show on one condition- as long as no one radical comes on board-- enter: Julie Rowe + Chad Daybell... 🙄

Meg

This means a lot to me, Katie, thank you. I like the analogy of the balloon. While I had many questions I never felt I was able to ask, through listening to him, I learned some unexpected things, and my own views shifted.

Lauren and John Matthias

Lauren, I posted a comment on YouTube, but wanted to tell you again that I am impressed with your professionalism in the interview with Mr. Littlebear. It takes skill and not a little patience to ask the right questions and find the answers, “hidden” though they may be, in wordy responses. It felt a bit like Mr. Littlebear was tethered to a helium balloon and you’d periodically pull him back down to earth to answer your questions before he was lost forever. “Woah there, Mr. Littlebear, not so fast. You were saying....” 😉

Katie Marlowe

The group dynamics were fascinating to me. Everything that was and wasn't said. With his health issues the rambling isn't really surprising, but made it tricky to follow. It reminded me a whole lot like the drama that happened while I did competitive dancing. Who was the favorite, who got on what team, who got the solo = the favorite speaker, who got the best speaking time, who got introduced to who etc. If that is true about the Preparing a People couple that they each invited Julie and Chad to make the other jealous- while the personalities and attitudes of founders,I believe, either consciously or unconsciously can set the attitudes for the remaining people in the group. I thought his interpretation of Chad was interesting- it would indicate from a different perspective that Chad knew exactly what he was doing and that it was wrong regardless of any beliefs he spouted. Also it sounded like he knew or at least suspected Chad was having an affair, for quite some time. And if Shawn knew- who else knew, and I wonder how long potentially Tammy could have known or at least suspected....

Amber Ferdig

Wow. That was interesting. Not being LDS, there was a lot I didn't understand. However, I found it extremely informative. Thank you for all that you and Dr John (and the Good Lori) are doing.

Cathi

It also sounds a lot like Larping to me. Taken WAY too seriously.

Emily Lou

Thank you for offering this. I’m in Kansas, so it would have gotten late for me. This was interesting on many levels. It sounds like they had a pretty big network full of people who had a few loose things in common - all who had their own competing visions. It also sounds like there were some pretty normal people and some extreme off the wall members who made up their own rules. It doesn’t sound like a cult to me, exactly. It sounds like there were some mini cults or their beginnings forming from this organization.

Emily Lou

For sure 😂

Joanna Mulvaney

For those who listen closely, there are some real treats in this interview, amiright? :)

Lauren and John Matthias

I've interviewed a lot of people over my career, and I would agree with the adjectives you used. . If I could choose one major takeaway: These fringe beliefs are more prevalent than we know. I hope to have Dr. John assess the interview soon, and share some of his thoughts here. I think he could help us all understand Littlebear, and the prepper movement a little bit more.

Lauren and John Matthias

Good to know! We can try to do this more often

Lauren and John Matthias

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I will say that his beliefs are well beyond what is taught in church. they are very out there. ... It was also confusing for me at times. If I hadn't been interviewing him for 2 hours already, I believe I would have stopped to explain the lost transcripts, but I wanted to make sure I had time to ask him about Chad, and skipped over this. ... Mormon belief is that the original chapters of the Book of Mormon are missing. A man named Martin Harris took them in the 1800's. ... Littlebear and this person named Dan Judd claim they have the lost transcript. This is unusual and nothing I've ever heard anyone claim before.

Lauren and John Matthias

Poor Lauren—you looked like you were struggling to keep your eyes open during that interview. So was I. Very confusing and ambiguous.

Stephanie Malmstrom

Hang on, Mr Littlebear told Chad he was worried he had metaphorical worms in his brain? I like his style!

Joanna Mulvaney

I thought this interview was fascinating and informative. As a non mormon I am not sure I entirely understand everything that was discussed, but think I get the gist of it. Sounds like there was much more to the story than previously discussed. Religion and cults fascinate me. Sounds like these Preparing conferences had a lot of shenanigans going on that wouldn’t be condoned by many religions. I was wondering if Dr John has a resource for understanding human spirituality and motivation (assuming he doesn’t want to explore it on a podcast- which would be awesome)…. Lauren, you are a fantastic interviewer and looked beautiful.
