Hidden True Crime's Dateline experience

John and I are excited and nervous for Dateline's episode tonight, and we wanted to share a bit of our thoughts before it aired on this Patreon-only podcast.
We plan to go live after it ends on YouTube tonight, but won't be promoting it. Just know if you want to jump on, we might show up 15 minutes or so after the show ends pacific time. It'll be late, but we want to hear our viewers reactions and thoughts.
John won't be watching, so I'll be heading to my in-laws house to watch with them. No live streaming, because we just don't think it's possible.
For our overseas listeners, we've tried to find a list of ways you can watch. Our biggest tip: Google VPN's. I also found this website with some tips: https://www.screenbinge.com/channels/nbc/

Why is she relying on someone else to cut her open and do surgery to her. Doesn’t she have faith in her own abilities? I have no faith her her major BS she spreads but shouldn’t she show HER FAITH to her followers.

One things for sure, she's good at manipulation, all we can do is hope she gets help

2021-11-15 20:03:59 +0000 UTCI’m not sure where to put this comment but here seems like a good place…I was going back through the podcasts and somehow I missed episode 11 tribute to Tammy, it might have been because it was the last few minutes and I was binge listening, my first go around. Lauren’s letter to Tammy s 100% shows Lauren’s heart and a bit of her story. Truth is it made me cry. Lauren often puts her heart out there but this was so special. We often talk about Dr John’s analytics and rightfully so but it’s Lauren that does the edits and it’s Lauren that give interviewers a safe place to share stories they might not otherwise. It’s Lauren who coaxes John from his shyness because she understands her husband and the value he can bring to the true crime world. For me it often starts and ends with Lauren’s precious heart. She is the mortar that holds the bricks together. Thank you, Lauren.

I didn’t know it was even on since I don’t have tv. So I turned it on and saw that you were on it. I legit screamed out loud “ITS LAUREN AND JOHN ITS LAUREN AND JOHN” my 4yr old looked at me like I’d lost my mind. I just looked at him and said… it’s fine you wouldn’t get it. Then I whispered to myself “But it’s Lauren and John” 🤣

It will be interesting to watch the first time either of you has a chance to interview Chad or Lori. That may just happen! I watch everything you put on you tube. Congrats on getting national exposure. You both deserve it for all your hard work. In the future, I would like to hear John's take on the Rittenhouse case. There is so much injustice in that case and our scary politics has blinded America to the hate that is brewing in our young people, and those who feel that we should be at war with each other. Maybe John can speak to the sickness that comes from uncontrolled hate and cult violence. I live in Colorado and I very much followed Columbine.

All of a sudden she is incapable of knowing what to do with her papers. I don’t know why that stood out to me. But she was so bold in Brandon’s parents’ yard talking to police then became helpless later.

After you guys get some sleep would love to hear parts of the interview that you feel they left out or things you wished they had shared . BTW watched the aftershow and love the "babe" thing you know some people can pound sand if they don't like authenticity because you guys have it 100%. You are my favorite couple to watch and I have to tell you why. There is so much admiration and respect you have for one another. It just shines through. I watched some of the Daybell episodes and the one where Dr. John is talking about hiking with that darling little son and thinking about life just pounded my heart. Also I love Dr. John's wedding ring . Don't ever let the ugly in the world spoil the beauty inside you guys. You have what the uglies can only ever dream could exist. OH and Lauren I ordered the Venus fly trap mug for my teen age daughter. You are an outstanding role model for her.

Even though we all tell you how much we appreciate your content in the comments, it never really feels adequate. But, I remember, after the very first listen of your very first podcast, thinking that Hidden: True Crime was exceptional. I also agree with him about Lori and Chad's personality and character. People do not become who they are in a vacuum. I do not remember how I found your podcast/website but I am so happy I did. Don’t know whether this is a sensible place to say this but I have been listening to your earlier podcasts about Chad being lost as a child etc; Dr John you have made me feel so much better after your explanation about being neglected as a baby-I was born in the 50’s in an orphanage in Liverpool and was adopted at 6 months by my amazing new parents. They always said they loved me so much and I was so special but my feelings of emptiness, worthlessness and depression have never really gone away. But because of my lovely adoptive parents I grew up ok and became a successful lawyer and thanks to Dr John’s explanation of Chad (?!!) I now understand why I still struggle. I just want you to know that you have made a huge difference in my life even though I’m in my 60’s. I don’t think you will ever know how many people you help. With love to you and your family, and all at HTC!
