Hi Karen. I dont think movies or docs can be added to the Book Club recommendations tab. Just books. I also tried. So I just put the info in a message and posted it. See you weds!

Try just typing it in the subject line of an email, then Dr. John & Lauren can see it w/out having to open an email. Put it in caps. Sounds interesting, I'll try to watch it. BTW, I get 'lost' between Patreon & Bookclub. I go in circles looking for something! 😄

I may be a ninny, but I can't find any way to write a new message regarding the book club. I have looked for a link or location at which to make a recommendation, and I can't find that either. I would like to make a recommendation for a movie. It's called The Sixth Commandment, and it is a riveting portrayal of psychopathy and predatory behavior. It is also a true story. Dr. John said he gets tons of emails each day, so I am reluctant to write his email directly. I hope someone sees this. Thanks, Karen Rose

I started watching Hell Camp on Netflix. It started as a program called the Challenger Foundation in Provo Utah. It devolved into a program that mirrors the techniques of Jodi Hildebrandt's like a playbook. I have to wonder if Hildebrandt was trained by or sent to one of the Challenger Foundation programs and if it was associated with the Mormon Church. The wilderness survival program initially started in southeastern Utah (with an office in Provo) and then was in a boat on the open ocean, and then in Samoa, in order for the founder to continue evading the law after a girl was killed and the founder was charged with homicidal manslaughter. He went on to continue more programs. Children were tied at the hands and feet, waterboarded, made to kneel with their hands up in the air, forced to do hard labor in hot climates and a teenage girl was hog-tied. After the teenage girl was brought to an isolation place called "the vow." It was there that she was S.A.'d. It all sounds all too familiar and similar.

So I have been listening back to some of the stuff that is out there. The 911 caller said there had been issues at Hildebrandt’s house. He also said something like “We knew she was a bad lady. We didn’t know how bad.” I am curious why he said this. A lot of horrible stuff has come out, but I don’t think anything, other than the events of the day, has come out that explains why he said these things. What other stories are out there?

Thank you for making these documents available for review. Her admission of guilt does not make clear how a previously loving mother became a participant in that level of violence against her children. Hopefully we will get a better understanding of the origins of Ruby's crimes when she testifies at Hildebrandt's trial. I look forward to Dr. John's analysis.

I just can’t. These women are monsters. How could she stand by and allow this to happen? I hope she serves all 15 years.

Moon Child

I had to stop reading it, I’ll try again tomorrow. It’s awful, my heart hurts, omg!

GoodGodMan

The abuse that these children endured is shocking! Jodie abused her niece in a similar manner. Another case of horrific child abuse by a mother of her special needs child in MI resulted in a guilty verdict last week

Bonnie Schoeneman-Dilley

I think gems are going to need a Dr. John session to deal with what Ruby did to her children.

Kay Louise

Going to try to read through this, thank you Lauren for reading part of it on you tube.

Kay Louise

They are monsters. Oh my word!

Valorie Dodart

nevermind. I see now.

Lisa Foley

I can't see the forms attached. what's wrong with me?

Lisa Foley

My heart goes out to the children who were subjected to this heinous torture and that justice will be served.

These people need deprograming. SMH. What a mom can be capable of with religious justification and a charismatic leader. Shame on the LDS church for embracing Jody.

I don't understand how anybody could watch another human being be treated this way. Let alone a child. Let alone your own child. Is this the purpose the idea of possession serves, that it gives license to do endless harm because they no longer consider the victim human? Hildebrandt is guilty, but watching the 8 Passengers videos this all seems to go much deeper. This woman seemed to delight in her children's pain, her smile brightened when they stated they had no friends. I just can't make sense of it.

Emm Vee

Wow! This will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Patty Glissmann

Good lord! I hope she gets the maximum sentence

This is a tough read
