I do believe that women in the LDS church having a desire to hold the priesthood or to participate in a hands-on way is what attracts so many women members to reiki/energy healing etc.

Elizabeth Tippetts

I would love for Dr. John to watch the video of Baldoni and Lively dancing and his take from the pov of fresh unbiased eyes.

Eedee

Red Rooms was AMAZING.

Eedee

Please start doing these on camera.

Elmo

Red Rooms is another interesting movie about a serial killer and his “followers”. Definitely check it out!

Ann Fraser

Best move I made was supporting your channel through Patreon instead of other platforms. I especially have enjoyed seeing more of your personalities & relationship revealed. My birthday is coming up soon. I like your approach to your birthday Lauren, and you do a great job managing the talent. Dr John, I have a science background so listening to you without any censorship is worth every dollar!

Sallie Kribbet

Were you watching Ophiedokey? I love her. I think that was an emotional reaction she was having to all the pro JB comments she was getting. I think she was telling ppl to back off- but you’re right, it was a bad statement. She is smart and self aware enough though that she might walk that statement back, even if she doesn’t change her mind about JB

Jeni Smith

Thank you! I would love for you to check out Crime Analyst's Patreon, for many reasons. The coverage you're interested in is at the Ringleader Level. There are 2 x 1hr episodes already, and there will be more as this goes on. Re True Crime coverage I'm very picky, and it's mostly you two I rely on. You'll see what I mean 😊

Isabel G.

Girl! You gotta send me some stuff to watch about whatever this Lively thingo is! Oh also-check your inbox! A good distraction video!

Tad Auty

We’ve been watching a lot of the same channels! LOVED Swiftologists take, very refreshing honesty, and while I agree— I’m still reading all of the evidence as it comes out, and have read the lawsuits, and there is just so much to sift through … def staying open but loving what you’ve written here. Seems we are following and find this interesting for similar reasons.

Lauren and John Matthias

Completely agree that two things can be true at once

Lauren and John Matthias

Lively/Baldoni saga-2 things can be true at the same time. There could have been times when Blake and others on set were uncomfortable and she also could have been making a power play to take over the movie. See law tube expert Emily D Baker (former prosecutor) on YouTube for what you need as far as a depth of knowledge without her taking sides. She is neutral until all evidence is presented. She’s also a ton of fun while presenting the case facts and law. Who would’ve thought law could be interesting? She has been going through all the filings in the case for both sides. Super interesting!

I’ll check it out! Thanks. I like hearing different sides.

Kathleen Caroline

How bout one on Lively Baldoni and Prince Harry and Royals

D. Haskins

Actually, I think that there's a lot of evidence you might have missed. Also, you might find the podcast 'Who trolled Amber' rather interesting 😊

Isabel G.

Interesting episode - if you're interested in Justin Baldoni, please check out the Patreon of Crime Analyst. She's done 2 episodes on it already and there's another one coming up. Swiftologist did a great video earlier on and I hope that he'll do an update. Same with Matt Bernstein and Kat Tenbarge, who is always brilliant on social media. Ana Psychology, Ex-Patriarch and yv_edit. Feminism for everyone and PecTwins on Tiktok. I know the creator that you're talking about, and please believe me that she is brilliant at evaluating evidence. I believe she said what she did because she's seen enough, and it's just pure manipulation at this point. Once you understand these dynamics it's nowhere near as confusing. This is an extremely effective smear campaign, typical predator behaviour, and all of this 'new evidence' coming out is classic DARVO. He's doing one thing after another to sway the public, distract everyone with gossip and subplots, and taint the future jury pool - and there are lots of people who can explain the in's and out's of just how he's achieving that. I find it utterly fascinating too. It works so well, because she's a very imperfect victim, Ryan Reynolds is deeply unlikeable and everyone hates very rich people right now. None of which makes Baldoni's behaviour acceptable, which is what the focus should be on. That's the original matter at hand, and everything else is distraction. The reason Ophie Dokie said what she said is because it's pure textbook behaviour, and we see one of these campaigns after the other, obviously with increasing intensity in recent years. She's studied a number of them and really knows her stuff. What he's doing is standard operating procedure, and it would be helpful for more of us to understand how this works. A lot of people hate women, and there seems to be a different one dragged through the mud at least every year. The overarching aim is to discourage women from coming forward. It's not even about Blake Liveley anymore, it's about the message it sends and that is the social context and the point. I'd challenge anyone to make some content about a woman - any woman - who came forward about SA or DV, and who was universally supported and believed. Even Gisele Pelicot with vast amounts of video evidence was smeared in court by the defendant's lawyers, one of whom did it not just in court but on Tiktok. No woman who comes forward ever benefits from it herself. I personally find Baldoni absolutely terrifying, because it's quite clear to me what has happened after doing a deep dive on it, and I can't believe the lengths he's going to to destroy someone. Someone who has been abused will focus on what was done, an abuser will focus on the person who made an allegation and seek to discredit them. He's not actually denied anything but is trying to make it seem like she misunderstood something or as if she's overreacting. That's exactly what his own lawyer did when he was accused. People misinterpret a lot of what he's putting out. A phone call at 2am talking about wanting 'all of you', 'creative juices' flowing' and 'a baby on your boob'? In future, it would be best to let these things play out in court, and foster an environment in which women can come forward without this degree of abuse to keep all of us safe, because these people will do this to multiple women every time. It's never just one. Also, don't forget that the entire cast wanted nothing to do with him after filming, and his own publicist dropped and is now suing him as well. I think that you will love Crime Analyst for her excellent analyses of True Crime. She has two psychology degrees, used to run the homicide prevention unit for Scotland Yard, and has worked very hard to educate people about coercive control and make it illegal, not just in the UK but Australia and other countries as well😊

This reminds me of Courtney Clenney's 'the only fans model' case. I hope Dr. John and Lauren will take a look at this case. I often saw how when the man is the victim, the media often portrayed it as a toxic relationship but when the woman is the victim, it is domestic abuse. Both should be framed as the same no matter what the gender of the victim.

Lenny Wen

For some reason this reminded me you have mentioned Israel Keyes a few times. I would love to hear what you and Dr John have to say about him even if it’s a very brief Patreon episode - I can only imagine how much research Dr John would want to do on Keyes before a public YouTube!

MC

This reminded me of the Johnny Depp/ Amber Heard case. So many people were saying that they stood with her and they have no reason to look at the evidence. If they had bothered to watch her testimony they would have seen clearly that she was making up stories. It was sad to me that people had made up their minds. It’s so alarming when you’re the ones considering all of the evidence and people are threatening you for doing that. Scary.

Kathleen Caroline

That is exactly what I read today. I think it will be difficult for them to come to a definitive conclusion.

Kathleen Caroline

Agree on both points!

Lauren and John Matthias

I’m there as well. Trying to remain open but I’m seeing evidence of her attempts to take over the film and a power play by both her and RR

Lauren and John Matthias

I meant to say, I went back and forth too, but everything I have seen at this point, makes me think he didn’t do what she’s saying.

Kathleen Caroline

I would love to see your opinion of the BL/JB feud. I, at this point, am team JB.

Kathleen Caroline

It's interesting---from the Ramseys to Alex Murdaugh, people seem determined to believe that if they themselves as people or parents are incapable of violence toward their own children, then no one who looks like them could possibly do it. I sometimes wonder what world these people live in---my life has taught me that one day the people you think you know can present as total strangers. I don't believe all people are capable of heinous crimes--but I do believe that it's more prevalent than people want to acknowledge. Re the Ramseys, their behavior on the night of the crime onward makes no sense. They ignored the instructions in the "ransom note" and every move they made was in service to their own self preservation.

Dianne Lopp

But if we are trying to go with the simple explanation & keep our view of the world intact/ safe… isn’t it easier to swallow that there is something wrong with one family in Boulder whose kid wet the bed… rather than a predator who has never been caught?? I’d feel way more secure about my kid & that the world only makes sense if the Ramseys did it. I perceive the evidence, “red flags” & nuances differently tho. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Bree Sison

I saw this movie … twisted , to put it mildly ..

Renée Price

I agree! I’m not dialed in and haven’t chosen a team, but would love a well rounded discussion on it!

Gena

Wow, this is such a good discussion. Combatting my cognitive dissonance has been the biggest change in my life.

Robin Murray

I’m team stand back til the end and see what happens in the Blake saga. Not to beat a dead horse but why did Burke have fecal issues and JonBenet pee in the bed? Peeing isn’t uncommon but both of them having issues makes me wonder.

PonyGirl

BTK and Bundy didn’t have criminal records until they were caught and charged. Not having a history of violence isn’t proof that someone isn’t violent. It’s proof that they haven’t yet been caught committing violence.

Rebecca Hayes

There is always hope 🫶🏻 I would like to hear John’s thoughts about Maya And about this lawsuit and her family specifically regarding her mother’s mental health.

Vala Hauksdóttir

Me too, I have listened to a lot of analysis on this case What stands out to me is the GARROTE That’s a torture device and extremely sadistic and deviant method of killing. First i was sure that someone in the family must’ve killed her, But after listening to the interview room i am not so sure about that anymore. I would love to hear John’s opinion on that And specifically about the GARROTE

Vala Hauksdóttir

Interesting tonight

Trucrimegirl

But John keeps his eye on you!🤣

Kathryn

Ok! Good to know

Lauren and John Matthias

I'd totally listen to a Blake & Justin lawsuit episode

Sarah Brady

Glad I’m not the only one .. with enough encouragement … maybe I will. Lolol

Lauren and John Matthias

I took a course meant to teach us to watch behavior. The instructor started by having a slide of tons of people and said “identify the criminals,” with the purpose being to point out criminals look like anyone. Love that yall talked about this. Also, love the silly laid back style of Patreon 🤪

LLemon

I paused the episode to say “PLEASE do an episode together on the Blake Lively/Justin Baldoni drama! I’m fixated on it too!

Kayla Ehnat

We did one about two years ago 😊

Lauren and John Matthias

Oops daybells...bad correction by phone

Cindy Ginter

I guess that woman in the movie like the Maybelline seeing people as zombies gave them an excuse to kill them.

Cindy Ginter

Thanks, great episode. My brain is firing questions left, right and centre!!

JenAus

Please do an analyis of the JonBenet Ramsey case! Would love to hear Dr John's take on it

Danielle G.

Strange Darling. John mentioned it about 1 minutes 20 seconds in

Lauren and John Matthias

Ruby was not a good Mother! She used and abused her children. She manipulated them for power, money and fame. The whole religious aspect is one thing. Personality is another. Generational family factors in. So many things go into and some of it is not healthy. I also think power corrupts sometimes. It is about being well rounded. Love is shown by example, patience, respect and showing what is taught to be a good leader. People like Ruby, Jodi, Lori are not good examples to their children. Let alone to running a business and having employees. There lives are a mess. Life is messy but they take it to an extreme where they loose control.

Kay Louise

What's the title of the movie?

Whitney Little

Listening to this I remember Jodi saying she loved the two kids she tortured and abused. She abused power in the worst ways. With her niece, clients and Ruby’s children. She is the worst leader ever!

Kay Louise

I rented that movie, I love the actor Kyle Gallner, but what a surprise.

Bunn Bun

I sure need this today. Looking forward to more of The Wisdom of Dr. John & Lauren.

Jen C

So excited by the title
