Yeah VATS is basically the games auto aim function. It's extremely helpful for head shotting enemies from a distance. You gotta build up your AP points to use it often in combat though.

2025-02-12 22:14:42 +0000 UTCmod of the chat here: we know how he enjoys playing games, watching things, etc so we mainly let him figure things out on his own as he has done so in the past. it can also be annoying constantly giving out tips throughout the stream. more than anything just trying to let him have a first play through like anyone else would. hope that helps you understand more and hope to see you join the stream next time

Ah, the chat is likely just trying not to spoil I think which I'm fine with, but I also really appreciate this information a lot as well. I was streaming when a lot of people were either at work or just finishing for the day so those that were there couldn't talk much I think. A lot of what you said made sense and I can't wait to try out a lot of the stuff you said too! You're right I'm on PS, and appreciate this all a lot! Seriously! Just a quick question on the VATS system - is that the 'time-slow' ability? I didn't know that could be used for aiming and also just combat in general. Sick!

First of all hording. If it says burnt in the title leave it. Clothing, unless it's armor you can break down or better than your current armor. Leave it. Grab all the items that provide you screws, springs, adhesive that you can find. That will help you upgrade weapons and armor. Hacking.. find all the dud removers first before you even think of figuring out the password. Combat... For the love of GOD learn the VATS system. I get it, FPS purists hate the VATS system. This is NOT an FPS game. Lockpicking... I'm assuming by the on screen display you're playing on a PS system, the second you feel resistance, let go of the stick. You're early game so your bobby pins are extremely limited. Go to work benches and break down items, it saves on weight. I'm not gonna go into perks cause we all have different play styles.
