Extended Writing Update

The beta is coming along nicely! I've been blown away by how thoughtful and thorough the feedback from many of the testers has been. I've got a few items added to my to-do list to spruce things up pre-launch, but for this weekend I've been focused on taking care of all the little typos/pronoun errors, and writing Flashpoint's next update. I find I can't focus on the bigger picture items for the beta until all the "housekeeping" is done.

As far as what those bigger points are, there's a bit at the end where two variables aren't setting correctly, so the game mistakenly assumed the player made different choices/outcomes than what really happened for one of the many aspects of the endgame state. There's also a small point in Rin's romance I forgot to follow up on - I have to decide if I'm going to remove it from the game (since it's such a quick moment) or put the time and effort into making it a larger thing we come back to. I have to do some thinking on how important it actually is to the romance arc. And then there's also the moment in chapter 7 where we come back from the flashback where it's felt a little abrupt for some. I think I can cushion the transition with a few sentences - I'm hoping that one will be easy lol, we'll see.

I think in the coming week I'll start small and work up, basically handling those bigger items in the reverse order I listed them here.

Other than that it's a dash to get the next Flashpoint mini-update squared away. I'm continuing to love the story, and I hope you'll like it too! This update will add about 5k more words to the existing demo, and for next month's demo I'll finish it. I'm not sure how many words that one'll end up being, but the game's already shaping up to be much longer than I planned, lol so I'm sure it'll be a substantial amount of content.

"Did you see that?" Harper asked, looking up at the shadows where the ceiling met the wall.

"See what?" I squinted, trying to see anything there in the quick flashes of light on the spot from the disco ball as it spun.

"It was like a shadow moved, or- weird air, I don't know. Did they turn on the fog machine?"
