Hi Jv! I don't know if you're planning to unveil any new series, but I'd like to give you two ideas. In the fantasy genre, I'd recommend Once Upon A Time. The special effects are bad, but the series is very creative until its fifth season, when the writing goes a bit haywire. Another suggestion: Downton Abbey. A perfect period drama, the first 3 seasons are jewels of writing and all the actors are perfect. You mention a lot about your lack of knowledge of history and this series starts in 1912 and ends in 1925 or something like that. It mentions some important events like the first World War, or the Titanic's sinking. So it's a real historical fresco about a rich family and its employees. Best! :)
