North Carolina: Tyler

I returned to the US early last month and flew into Charlotte to spend a week visiting my best friend, before making my way up to my home state of Virginia. I didn't have any shoots planned for that week, but as always, I was open to it and looking. I ended up nabbing 3 and had them set up for my last 3 days in town. Tyler was the final one and the one I was most looking forward to.

I found thirty year old Tyler through a hobbyist photographer I know in Charlotte. He and I met up at a cafe one evening to talk shop, swap stories and just catch up. He mentioned his 'white whale' in Charlotte - this guy he's been following for years and desperately wanting to photograph, but hadn't. They'd exchanged some messages, but nothing ever came of it. I asked to see the guy's Instagram and there ya have it, I suppose. I sent him a message and a few days later, voila.

I know most my followers and subscribers are usually more into the Asian, Latin and more twinky, smooth guys, and that's certainly great and definitely something I'm into as well, BUT - I can also get just as excited and inspired by a beefy guy who doesn't fit into those categories. Well, Tyler is certainly that - tall, thick, strong build and oozing masculinity. In addition to that, he was a really nice, adventurous and polite guy. The weather wasn't so warm, but he was happy to get in the water for some shots and in fact, it was his idea! After getting wet, muddy and cold at this nature location, we headed to our second location - an abandoned house (of course). He'd never been in one and was eager to check it out - in addition he liked the idea of taking more sexy and risqué shots in such a setting.
