Noah's lips twitch, but otherwise he doesn't give a reaction as he grabs my completed homework assignment and puts it in the pile with the rest.

"Let me know how that works for you." He responds after a brief silence. "I'm heavily invested."

I gulp, hoping he can't see the warmth I feel spreading over my cheeks and neck.

"It'd be a real shame if you had to settle for me." He continues, cocking his head to the side as a sly grin spreads over his lips. His eyes dart to the clock along the far wall before returning to me. "Looks like our time is up. See you tomorrow, Emma."
