MHA Incubus: Chapter 28

Things got worse for the heroes. Many villains who had gone into hiding or lay low until now had begun to pop up as more cities began to fall under attack from those villains. How many villains were villains because of the corrupt system in place? Ten percent? Twenty? The number certainly wasn’t zero. The system was rigged for bulky, powerful quirks to flourish while those that were actually good at capturing villains were pushed to the sidelines. The ‘popularity’ they strove for did far more harm than good, especially to those who gave up on the system.

How many civilians could have helped during the fight, but wouldn’t because it was illegal for them to use their quirks? That number was far higher than even the villains fighting, but because of the laws in place, the casualties from the villains were going to be far, FAR higher because of it. The entire system would be looked at after this situation was over; no matter who won, the leadership would be punished, and the entire system might be done away with. That was if they won. If the heroes lost, the results would be far more deadly for the leadership…

Deku tried to hold her hands up, one arm hung limply at her side, her mask ripped off, dozens of small wounds covering her body, as hundreds of other villains were on the ground unconscious, some even dead. Hawks still lay unconscious on the ground; the only reason she hadn’t run was because of him. All for One hung at the back of the group.

He had been surprised by the next user of his brother’s quirk. She could do things no other user could; she could use their powers as well. It was only the bare basics, but if given enough time, she could have even posed a threat to him. If he had waited, and she had kept it a well-hidden secret, she could have defeated him when he finally went forward with his original plan.

She dodged another dozen attacks, but the villains once again targeted the unconscious Hawks; the only reason she was so injured was from defending him. Just a wave of her hand was enough to throw off most of the projectiles, but the sheer number meant some of them would get through. Another shard of metal hit her, cutting another wound into her body.

The only reason she wasn’t overwhelmed because she was at the dead end of an alley, and they could only attack from one direction. She felt a sudden rush of air and couldn’t help but smile as some of the fliers that had proved the hardest for her to take down were dealt with in an instant. The smile fell off her face, replaced with a look of resolve as the person yelled out.

“DEKU!... DO YOUR BEST!”

All Might was at the end of his rope. The suit he spent most of his fortune to get made was still years from being perfected. The imperfect version caused an abnormal amount of strain on his body. As brilliant an inventor as the Shield family was, they didn’t have the time to finish the true suit, only leaving him to use the base prototype they made.

And he was already at his limit after only defeating a handful of opponents. A villain tried to sneak up on him, but a wrecking ball came out of nowhere, smashing the person into a wall as Nezu controlled a crane remotely from inside the building. Another villain noticed the wrecking ball and cut the steel cable, making it almost all but useless as someone snuck up on All Might as he watched this happen.

A hand came down and pressed dozens of papers on his exposed back; most of the mechanical components to the suit were missing, allowing someone to touch him. So put off by the situation, he almost turned to strike him, until he heard his voice. “It looks like you’re struggling here. How about we get you back up to peak so you can help out my girlfriend?”

The papers began to burn as thousands of years of life force flowed into All Might, healing every single one of his injuries. The suit shot off him as his body bulked back up to its peak, and before he could finish, the man pointed him in a direction. “I got the villains here, go help take All for One down, he’s that direction. Oh, and… Do your best!”

A collection of heroes grouped together. It was clear to see that most of the ones still capable of fighting were females, as the men were ground down just by the sheer number of villains they were up against. Dozens of prisons were broken into, freeing most of the villains behind bars, making their fight all the more difficult. The only reason they weren’t completely overwhelmed was the power of the female heroes fighting.

Some of the female heroes couldn’t go on for that long. Mount Lady was already down for the count. She helped take down a giant villain, but she was rendered unconscious and had to be dragged off by her boyfriend. All the true standouts had one thing in common, and that was who they last slept with. All of them had an edge on everyone else; even if they didn’t have their quirk improved, they now had the stamina to go the distance, while other heroes didn’t.

It was still a losing fight. For every hero there was, there were ten villains, and they weren’t pulling their punches. Tsuyu gripped another hero struck by a lucky hit and dragged them to safety, as with every one of their defeat, it became harder to defend the already unconscious heroes. Just before the villains overwhelmed them, more than a dozen identical-looking men flew past, taking out the strongest remaining villains as each looked at a different hero still standing.

Each gave a soft smile before they shouted out. “Hero name. Do your best!” Everyone who heard the words felt a sudden spike of energy run through their body. Those whom the person barely knew only received a poultry power boost. But most of the heroes still up and capable of fighting were people he had sex with. Those received a much larger boost.

The three quirks used were decent by themselves, but became true powerhouses when put together. The love quirk provided a power boost to whoever he cheered for; this was usable only once per day. The workaround of using duplicates allowed it to flip any battlefield it appeared on. The final quirk was Ai’s own; his demonic form and contract magic were strong on their own. Dozens more combatants as strong as Mirko, capable of flight and with incredible healing and support quirks to bring even those on the verge of death back into the fight, meant the fight quickly flipped. The villains were now being crushed overwhelmingly wherever he appeared. And, with the duplication quirk, he appeared in most places.

If someone were looking closely, they might have noticed him doing something. If a villain had a powerful quirk, he would ‘hit’ them hard enough to take them down permanently. If he ended up with their quirk, it would be extremely difficult to prove, since the villain would be dead. Even some of the heroes, Ai went to check on Hawks, and after confirming he was still alive, he wasn’t for much longer. His quirk slotting into another spot as he would wait to tell Deku after the fight that Hawks didn’t make it.
