Newsletter: week of Oct. 14th

This week started off real strong:

iPhone 16 Pro, selfie cam + more contrast and saturation

On Sunday I hiked up Kaaterskill Mountain (3,645') in the Catskill region of New York State in order to get more footage with a camera I can't tell ya about yet and check another high peak off my list. It rained the entire time but wowee did it feel good to get 8 miles on the legs. For about a year and a half I have been working towards completing the Catskill 3,500's and after this bad boi I have 26/33 down. Let's just hope the next ones aren't as wet and slippery!

iPhone 16 Pro, main lens with lots more contrast and saturation

Then on Monday I got my silver creator award in the mail. This one feels extra special because it's ours, all ours! Thanks to you folks tuning in and me making videos I love we got a silver lil' plaque that, to me, says we are onto something. Cheers to us!

not sure what this was taken on, but wowee that f/1.4 - love to see it

And lastly Thursday brought a film crew from LinkedIn up to my home in the woods. They have a series called Catalyst that is all about turning setbacks into success, and they wanted to do a lil' episode about me. Honored! I'll be sure to link it when it goes live.

And with that onto this weeks links:

techy stuff i cant stop thinking about:

A few weeks ago I finally bit the bullet and got one of these for holding my hard drive to both the iPhone 16 Pro and my laptop, and folks... it's life changing. Not having to hold onto my hard drive as I film with the phone or endlessly move from the kitchen to my office to the couch all day is worth its weight in gold. 11/10 would rec, just mad that I didn't do this sooner.

Samsung sent these over last week and I'm just real impressed with 'em. They came out back in July, but I'm scratching my head wondering why I didn't hear more buzz about them. I think it might be the high price ($250 before discounts)? But wowee, they sound so good. And while I don't love the triangle-shaped stems, I have still been choosing to use them over anything else. So much so that I think I have to do a review of them... any interest in that?

There, I said it. Nothing about that bus with no wheels looks like the future. It feels stuck in a 1980's sci-fi film or maybe a child's toy chest. I am all for mass transportation, but this just feels over engineered for no good reason.

things i watched:

things i listened to:

things i read (or am reading):

Ok! That's been my week. If ya feel comfortable I would love to hear about what you have been reading, watching, or listening to this week.

And as always, thank you for being apart of this awesome community <3
