How do you read Summer Camp?
Added 2019-06-18 17:16:56 +0000 UTCBig Ed and I are expanding our writing empire (yay!), but we want to make sure we understand what you want.
Right now, that means we want to know how you read. After all, why change or do something new if the current system works?
So, how do you read Summer Camp?
P.S. - I forgot about the app. Sorry! Pick one of the "I come to Patreon" options if you mostly read in the app.

Answer: Come to Patreon to read chapter updates. Epub to keep & reread full book. Epub chapters not very useful - full book Epub more useful.

2019-06-24 16:51:50 +0000 UTCYou should consider keeping future polls open a full week. Some people don't get emails and only look in once a week to read the latest chapter update.

2019-06-24 16:47:22 +0000 UTCIf I am on my phone, I prefer to read on Patreon, but if on my desktop, I read the Patreon generated email. That's because I'm impatient about waiting for the chapter ePub. The format I value the most for reading and saving is the ePub.
2019-06-23 04:01:47 +0000 UTCI convert Patreon posts to txt and then to epub and read in Marvin on iPad.
2019-06-20 13:34:43 +0000 UTCI create an epub from patreons html and read on the phone.
2019-06-20 11:03:22 +0000 UTCI usually read on Patreon (through my web browser), but also download the eBooks so I can re-read on my Nook. Prior to your Patreon page, I downloaded PDFs from your website and ePub files as a premium member of SOL.

2019-06-20 00:36:46 +0000 UTCBecause I travel and some places have blocked Patreon I read the email then go and grab it once I’m back to unfiltered internet.
2019-06-19 17:05:07 +0000 UTCI generally read in email, but would rather read on my kindle if I could do so easily. (I sometimes am successful sending releases to my kindle, but much of the time it doesn't send the chapter -- just a message that I'm not logged in.
2019-06-19 15:57:22 +0000 UTCI copy the text from the email, past into an app that reads it to me. I'm lazy like that.
2019-06-19 15:56:53 +0000 UTCI may just be dumb but navigating Patreon to read the stories as they are released is way to hard. I much prefer reading it in email or downloading the complete chapter
2019-06-19 13:01:42 +0000 UTCI would probably read in Patreon to but I use Firefox as Browser an the Facebook-Login an that dosen't work well, so to logon to Patreon I have to use the Internet Explorer at my PC. Since I have no patience to read the new stories I read them mostly on my smartphone out of the emails.
2019-06-19 10:27:31 +0000 UTCI read online at first but grew frustrated with the progress so I stopped. Then I download the emailed chapter segments ... just in case murphy strikes and I downloaded the chapter ePubs for later loading onto my iPad Mini 4. I'm really waiting for the finished books in ePub format. I've seen your section on www.amazon.com for the books. How much is left to do Nick before you distribute to us?
2019-06-19 07:49:22 +0000 UTCI do all of my reading on my Nook e-reader.
2019-06-18 22:13:51 +0000 UTCI get a notification from the app. I used to always read it in email but now I read it in the app at least half the time.

2019-06-18 21:32:09 +0000 UTCi read the pre-release chapters via email. log in to patreon to comment on mistakes or suggestions... but when a book is done i grab the ebook and re-read from start to finish.

2019-06-18 20:37:29 +0000 UTCI read the email within an hour of its release. 11pm - 1am Australian Eastern Time. Once I have read it - or the next morning I will generally leave a compliment to @NickScipio on Discord. When the eBook becomes available I will download it.
2019-06-18 20:35:24 +0000 UTCI read the weekly release in the Patreon app, and I collect the epubs for later.
2019-06-18 19:56:20 +0000 UTCI exclusively use the Patreon app. What's this about an email?
2019-06-18 19:51:55 +0000 UTCWell, it's called a "boxer's fracture." That should give you a clue... 😈

2019-06-18 19:35:16 +0000 UTCI create a PDF from each full chapter and read it offline may be with a glass of good wine.
2019-06-18 19:29:33 +0000 UTCI generate my own epub version out of the email that I send to my reader. I don't like to get an epub per chapter. I'd rather be able to get an updated epub with the full book every week. This is easier to manage in Calibre and my reader. Unfortunately, adding more money JUST for the epub in a format I don't like is too much for me and generating my own seems worth the effort. I'll consider upgrading for a month at the end of the book to get the real full epub, though.
2019-06-18 19:26:58 +0000 UTCI read all 3, I love to read the comments, read back writings and reread downloads to double check future releases and how others comment. I have only been at staff level a short time but plan on staying.
2019-06-18 18:57:31 +0000 UTCI will say reading them as they come out on Patreon is far better than waiting for a new chapter to get posted to USENET like I used to 17 years ago.
2019-06-18 18:15:48 +0000 UTCPatreon doesn't work well on my tablet or phone, so I dump the email attachment to a local server and read that on my tablet.
2019-06-18 18:10:31 +0000 UTCI am a "returnee" from many years ago and am completely new to the Patreon concept. I don't really know how I am reading SC. I keep clicking on things until I get "Christy" in my iBooks and read it there. I read on one device only (iPad). I'm certain there is a better way and would be interested if there is any "How to" or "Help" area that anyone could point me to. Thanks.
2019-06-18 18:03:52 +0000 UTCI read them in email right away. But I can't remember how Paul hurt his hand...

2019-06-18 18:01:28 +0000 UTCI am a "returnee" ll
2019-06-18 17:56:20 +0000 UTCI wait for the monthly ebook version for my kindle - one chapter is fragmented enough for me, no need to split it in 4 parts weekly
2019-06-18 17:55:19 +0000 UTCFridays are often slow days at work, and the emails with the pre-release parts seem perfectly timed for that post-lunch slowdown, so I'll sometimes read them in email on my phone at work. Otherwise I'll read a new portions on Patreon. When I want to go back and re-read the older books (like when Nick went on vacation) I'll open up the e-books. Nick's website is good for going to a specific chapter of the older books if there's a specific scene I want to re-read as well.
2019-06-18 17:48:04 +0000 UTCAs I told Ed, I read the email then log in to Patreon to comment as required. I d/l the ebooks or stories when they're complete.
2019-06-18 17:44:52 +0000 UTCI personally read each email, then when the full episode hits - I jump to Patreon and read the full episode and download the latest about the same time.
2019-06-18 17:41:36 +0000 UTCI wait until all (or 4) segments are done then I'll come here, click the chapter link them read the complete chapter.
2019-06-18 17:33:18 +0000 UTCMan...that's like knowing most of the meal is served and sitting there and just waiting. :) You have far more patience than I! Salud!
2019-06-18 17:31:30 +0000 UTCI primarily read thru the first time in the email. The formatting for my email is easier for catching errors when proofing. I re read mostly on my kindle... The 10 inch screen is MUCH easier on the eyes. I barely use my computer anymore unless I need to convert an ebook (cough cough)
2019-06-18 17:27:25 +0000 UTCThe email updates hit me around 1pm which is perfect as I read before work at 2:30pm. I do download to iBooks as a permanent keep but mainly read from the email.
2019-06-18 17:27:22 +0000 UTCI wait till the book(s) are complete, so haven't read any of Book 5 yet.
2019-06-18 17:25:18 +0000 UTCI primarily read on the app on my iPad, but sometimes via the website on my desktop machine.
2019-06-18 17:22:59 +0000 UTCI tend to create my own ebooks when all installments from a chapter are available. Then put them on my e-reader to read them. Finally, after the official ebook is available, i'll download it and replace my own versions.
2019-06-18 17:22:45 +0000 UTCAck! I completely forgot about the app. I don't use it myself, so I never think about it. Obviously. Sorry about that.
Nick Scipio
2019-06-18 17:21:22 +0000 UTCI get an email notification with full text at 8am Monday mornings, as well as a push notification from Patreon. I will read the story in the Patreon app on the bus to work.

2019-06-18 17:20:35 +0000 UTCI guess you could say I come to patreon to read, I use the app on my phone
2019-06-18 17:20:19 +0000 UTCif I miss some posts for one reason or another (like when I first joined and was catching up) I get the ebook because that's the best reading experience, but I don't bother with the ebook when it is just a chapter cause it's too much effort to get, I'd much rather have the ebook when it is more complete. Mostly I just read in patreon, but on occasion I've just read it in the email and then clicked to patreon to comment.
Nick Moline
2019-06-18 17:19:36 +0000 UTCI'd say that counts as "I do both." I understand that most people don't read the chapter twice, back to back. So, email for reading, Patreon for comments.
