So this is a hard post for me to make. Wildman Chuck was a photographer that I started working with in 2006, and we instantly became very good friends. We met at a photo event called the Arizona Shootout and shot together a few times a year from then until about 4 years ago. I often joked that Chuck was a former ex husband from a previous life, because he made me nuts with his over explanation of everything he did in photography. I would've divorced him, despite how much love I had for him. Chuck was extremely politically active (even in the last few years of dementia he had enough memory that he would scoff at certain politician's names), and I had a deep respect for his activism. In my model tours he was always kind and made his home open to me. When I moved from Florida to California he let me, Titania and my little dog stay at his home. Chuck was not just a photographer, he was a dear friend. When I visited Arizona, we would always find time to catch up over dinner (or breakfast since we were both 24/7 diner people) and the last time I saw him, I organized to see him through his family when his health began to fail. I'm so sad to say that Chuck passed away yesterday. He was 90 years old, and lived a very full and very loved life, but my heart still aches for the loss of a friend.
I attached 2 images from one of our many many shoots over the years. I may dig through some hard drives and reminisce over images at a later time when I feel less emotional.
RIP Wildman Chuck.
