Hiyo, Patrons! It's time for another short update!

I'm officially back in audio production mode and have been for the past couple of weeks, working recording in around my day job schedule. It's going pretty well, all things considered!

Not being on the verge of burnout has definitely helped a ton. Why, I haven't felt like bursting into tears of stress in weeks! Weeks, I tell you! It's marvelous. Things will also calm down a lot IRL after Labor Day, so it'll be much easier to get stuff done then!

So, let's get down to our updates!

Upcoming Event!

or: FRIENDSHIP ENDED WITH HERE FOR THE BOOS...

As previously mentioned about a million times, I decided to shift Here for the Boos into September this year. Or at least, that was the original plan, but after thinking about it a bit, I realized that it needed a retool. The name is a bit too Halloween-y, and while the event will remain the same content-wise, the branding is officially being retired.

NOW BACK TO GHOUL IS MY BEST FRIEND!

Say hello to Back to Ghoul! The same spooky themes, yanderes and monster girls, but with a new name and intro. 

The script line-up for the event is finalized, and I'm hard at work getting everything ready for early access throughout September. There will be 13 audios in all, varying in length from 10+ minutes to 1+ hour.

Six of those are already in the can, awaiting edits and sound design, which I'm throwing myself into over the weekend whenever I can. ^^

There's a LOT to do, especially with so many multi-scripts on the agenda and time running short, but I'm confident I can get through them! Some estimated lengths look more intimidating than the final audios will likely be. (Stage/sound direction takes up a lot of space in a longer series!)

A couple of these (Skeleton Girl, Yandere Cultist) are just 2-3 scripts in length, and they may get trimmed to just the first installment depending on how I feel about the stories as I'm recording them. We'll see!

Continuing Shorts!

As I said in my last update, I've decided to keep producing YouTube shorts until at least the end of 2024. (I'll reassess at the start of the new year if i want to move on from them or not.)

But for now, I love the process and challenge of shorts, and finding new ways to play with the looping format. They're a great palette cleanser, I'm excited to work on 'em, and I think they'll be a useful marketing tool in the long run, as well as provide some solid info about which script themes to pursue for future long-form script commissions.

I also love commissioning writers I trust to work with me on them! Which I've done a lot of over the past few weeks! I've got another 20 short scripts finished waiting in the wings, 5-6 that I penned myself, plus I'm waiting on a couple of other writers for another 12 or so. ^^

I'm also trying to at least get through a few Patron requests in shorts. (Note to self: update list ASAP. I've filled a few of those since I last did!)

Anyway, expect one short out on YouTube every Saturday/Sunday for the rest of the year. During event months, that may get cut down to just one per weekend. But they'll go into early access prior to their official public releases.

Continuing Patreon Exclusive Audios!

Unless I explode (I could! Never say never!) I'll definitely be releasing two Patron exclusive audios every month for the rest of 2024 as well, one every other week or so. Let's call it an experiment for now, to see if I can manage the workload going forward.

To that end, I'm thinking about posting polls at the beginning of each month to let you vote on which scripts get filled as exclusives!

That said: Patreon has been cracking down on a lot of NSFW content of all sorts lately, to a rather startling degree. There have been many rapid fire changes in policy happening over a short period, so I'm probably going to avoid anything terribly explicit--at least until the lines are a bit more clearly drawn and, y'know, not changing every two weeks.

It sucks, but it is what it is. Still, I'll try to fit some (Patreon pleasing) spice in if I can.
