In honor of the month of Love, as I like to call it, the four 3x5 Fridays this month will be a bit different: in red-hue pencils, capturing figurative expressions of four types of love, from the Greek categories.
Today's type of love:
Ludus - playful love - is a love that celebrates, gratifies, and serves the emotional self, it' whims and flirtatious capacity. The short term and concerns of immediate gratification are it's domain.
While I think we can all agree that love has great depth and levels of maturation that enrich it, Ludus is an aspect of love that savors the moment and it's delightful, sensory spontaneity. Early stages of connection with others or the single person's flirty and coy adventures are where ludus thrives. It's all about the thrill of the game, the play, the tease, or the childlike glee possible in the interpersonal world...
I like honoring love in all it's forms, because it shows up with such beautiful and functional variation in life. So let's celebrate it this month!
Next week: Eros!
*take care to enjoy the moment, some surprise, spontaneity, or youthful fun this week!
