3x5 Friday - figure Study #20

Happy March! It's back to our regular 3x5 figure sketches, with my preferred graphite carpenter-style flat in 2B, by Generals Pencil Co.
I always keep it light and focus first on line of action or angle of posture, going in intentionally and clear with mark-making to capture the gesture of the sub-structures within the form. Start with largest masses, and get more specific with their shapes as you go.
Then, my favorite thing to do with quick and simple studies like this, is to leave open form where it makes sense. It's more fun when not everything is tightened up and tied off, as it were!
