Dark Place Progress Post #11

I love coffee, but it's not for everyone. Caffeine in general can cause anxiety.

Looks like RainingLamppost had basically the same idea, I didn't notice, sorry.

Oh, whoops, looks like I had a similar idea in mind but didn't see your comment, sorry about that.

I'm really glad you're doing better now, getting good sleep and taking care of your body is extremely important. I've been thinking for quite some time that I should make regular reading a habit, but it never materialised so far. Also, this might be a long shot, but would it perhaps be possible to have the game display what you "see" when you put your cursor on one of the provided options? Trimming the text is definitely needed, because getting overwhelmed by information is not fun, but I feel like it could streamline the game and perhaps even make the player consider their options more. Let's say you approach a location. The game tells you where you are and some necessary information if needed. Then, if you pre-select "Go North", it will write out "To the north, I see a forest." under the already written text. If you pre-select south, you will instead get information about what is south etc. Obviously, I haven't actually played the game, so I don't know how it feels to play, but based on what I've seen, perhaps it could work as a compromise.

Glad you're taking care of yourself! With the senses and too much text on screen thing, I'd wonder about having buttons/tabs for each sense and each one gives you some info each so you could click/mouse over/whatever to get extra info, but that'd be a bit cluttered if not done right and would then potentially make you feel you had to do that for -everything-... game devving really does have a very specific difficulty in stuff like that (learning Unreal myself and encountering this kind of thing too) - glad you're continuing with this! 🙌

If you ever need help with keeping track of your sleep, and like Pokemon for whatever reason, Pokémon Sleep is great at getting you to sleep consistently.

While reading your post I was trying to imagine things in all the directions and it was kinda hard. Then I continued reading and that was your point haha. I think imagining a scene is fine enough to do in your head, but it's tough for me to quickly imagine a scene where I can turn to see all the details in 360 degrees in my head.

Good for you for getting into a rhythm with sleep and fitness. You're doing better than most 😅

I recently got into a routine too and honestly my physical health and mental health has just improved and I feel wayy better day by day. Me personally I have incorperated coffee in my system which is a wayyy new feeling just in case your interested. You have to time and portion it correctly but I think it has it's benefits
