Realm of Dominance Major Update: Patreon only release!

Hello dear Patrons.

We're happy to announce we're releasing the update we were working on for our first game Realm of Dominance. There are so much new things and it is very hard to include them all in single post.

For some time, this new version of RoD will only be available for our Patrons. Because the game is now more complicated than before and we need tons of feedback to how to make it better and fix issues that we could not address.

Let's wrap up what we added:

New Turn Based Combat System
This includes new regular enemies that you fight everyday in the arena. Valeria, Livia and Gloria are now Boss Fights that are available when you have enough fame. Also Rosanna, Troublemaker are other fighers that you encounter while completing quests.

Those enemies all have different combat behavior and distinctive AI. Some will try to get closer to you giving you no space for you to land hits, some will taunt and fight on psychological level. Regular combatants are procedurally generated accoring to your fame level, but bosses are all the same. They have their unique skills while regular combatants currently can't wield skills.

New Effects and Skills

There are skills both for physical and magical builds. You can build your character by working in one of those: GYM, Oracle Shop and Tavern for certain attributes. Those attributes make it available to equip items and skills.

Attributes and improvement (Learn by doing system)

You can also improve your attributes during combat. For example, VIT is improved by getting hurt while AGI is improved by moving while equipping lighter items. Every attribute has their special conditions for improvement during battle. So combat improvement is based on what kind of play style you are adapted into.

New Sandsworth and Resource Management
This is the new Sandsworth with interiors placed on the right side panel. We added a parallax effect to Sandsworth to feel the depth of scene.
On the bottom there are resources you need to manage like Hunger and Energy. Every time you spend time training, you lose certain resources and you need to use them carefully, buy food from Zia, and sometimes take a nap at the Tavern to restore your energy.

New Main Menu and UI Overhaul
We have a new Main Menu which looks more dynamic than before and every UI panel is reworked to look more consistent with each other.


Finally we're releasing the update for our first game. It was really hard for us to remake all the stuff we did before. Realm of Dominance is a passion project, something we wanted to play ourselves and something we couldn't find elsewhere. The scope on this project is very large, very hard to make as the first game. We are having hard time to balance things out, so letting a feedback on our survey (which is also found in the main menu) is greatly appreciated.
