Regarding MerStory:
It's pretty obvious that MerStory's very simple art style is to evoke a storybook atmosphere.
Actually there's a significant difference between Book1 and Book2 coloring methods. Book 1 was done with Paint Shop Pro 9, Book 2 all done digitally with Paint Tool Sai. Unfortunately I don't quite remember anymore the methods I used to get that soft dreamy style in Book 1.
Because it is a deliberate storybook style, I've long been searching for a way to reproduce a real media look, but in SAI, because it's still my graphics program of choice since it can run on a potato if it needed to. And it needs to, often.
I'm keeping the digital version of MerStory up, but also I've been slowly remaking all the images into one consistent art style for the physical print version.
There have not been as many updates, but Jason has finally had enough of these harpies' shite. As usual, you can find it on NewTribeZ.
