Obsessed with Captain Carter
Added 2023-01-11 12:09:19 +0000 UTCI don't think it's a secret that I'm a big fan of strong female warriors. The cover art & content of Sanctuary in Time probably let that cat out of the bag. And lately I've been becoming more and more of a big fan for Marvel Studio's Captain Carter. In fact, I'd venture to say I'm veering into obsessive territory at this point. But you know what? I've got zero regrets. Because if you've got to be obsessed with something, why not have it be amazing, strong, and inspiring women like Agent / Captain Peggy Carter?
At Christmas time, I gifted myself a bagged & boarded copy of Captain Carter #1 to display on my wall, a reading copy of the collected 5 issue miniseries in trade paperback form, the Marvel Legends 6" tall action figure... and yes, even a t-shirt to wear with Captain Carter's fierce countenance on display.
Now, most people might say, "Okay, that's a little obsessive. But not too bad. I mean, you did stop there, right?" To which I would bashfully reply, "Um, nope. Not quite." Because just recently, with obsessive flames still ablaze, I also purchased the 1:6 scale Captain Carter action figure / doll from Hot Toys.
She stands 11" tall, has 28 points of articulation, real clothing, multiple alternate hands, alternate hair, a sword (my fave!), pistol, shield, and a really cool stand for displaying her in really cool poses.
This figure is imported from Japan & quite pricy, but I gotta say, also worth every darn penny. This is my first figure from Hot Toys and I've been super impressed with both the design and craftsmanship. I'd highly recommend it for anyone currently obsessed with the Sentinel of Liberty, like myself.
