WIP Batch #1
Added 2025-04-30 03:26:35 +0000 UTCFrom yesterday's vote, "handful of WIP's" won! So that means I'm here to drop a small handful of little unfinished tracks before I catch my plane in the morning. I'll add some small detail for each here, and attach all of the tracks at the bottom of the post (unfortunately it looks like I can't have multiple playable "media" instead of attachments, let me know if I'm just missing something!). Bear in mind that I tend not to focus much on the mixing til toward the end of a track's production, so mix quality may vary.
RunAround:
This one features the heavily-edited voice of my good friend Scout. The filename is because it's actually the vocals from her "Run Around the Room" cover that I recreated the instrumental for and still had the vocal files hanging around.
DosFM:
If this one had a title, it'd probably be "BGM For a Cruelty Squad Level if I Ever Made One", though it's currently a lil rough. I had definitely been playing the game a lot around the time I started this one. I'd probably only finish this if I ever did make a Cruelty Squad level, tbh. Or if I found a better use for it...
PharMod1:
A lil goofy with it. Wanted to try that kinda "mild distortion on master" sound. I'd like to turn this one into an actual song at some point, but I didn't have any lyrics/theme in mind at the time of starting so it's kinda in that "hang onto this in case I have a song idea that fits" limbo.
Tweeakaiagain:
This one's made entirely from old 90's Akai sample libraries, giving it that kinda "sample-based PS1 RPG town theme" sound.
Weur:
Nothin rly to say about this one. Fun but rough lil WIP.
faraway:
This one was originally just a draft for an actual song I was just 'sketching' out - the lead synth was a placeholder for the vocals. All the non-drum (and ending part) samples are just from some General MIDI soundfont I had. But then I had a lil fun with it and it got away from its original design. Maybe I can make the actual song again from scratch and use this one as a silly lil reprise.
Hopefully one day I'll finish all of these and find a use for them. In the meantime, I hope you got at least some slight enjoyment out of my unfinished crumbs - you did vote for them, after all! This time tomorrow I'll be in the US enjoying Burger. See you next month!
